She’s still here and she’s doing just fine! Look at her: sporting that fashionably-thrifty animal print coat look with a retro beach ensemble underneath. (doesn’t she remind you about Mischa Barton, somehow?)
She looks pretty happy, the advantages of being an off-duty model, away from the catwalk for quite a while now is learning to smile again! Beautiful! (I guess those rumors about her weight were true… Hope she’s doing fine, because she sure looks radiant from where I stand!)
UPDATE: Four years have passed since we signaled that Gemma Ward’s priorities may have strayed away from fashion land and nothing changed in her life, catwalk-wise.
Although repeated rumors have surfaced stating an alleged return from she who used to be the undisputed Queen of all Catwalks, Gemma did not claim her fashion reign back. Au contraire, she seems to be keen on acting, chaining movie after movie.
Her first cinematographical adventure brought her close to the one who would become one of the greatest loves of her life, late Heath Ledger, was in The Black Balloon. Next followed The Strangers, also in 2008. Three years later she was a mermaid in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides while this year she starred in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
However, she was famously absent from this year’s red carpet but it wasn’t until August 2013 that the world found out why: Gemma Ward is pregnant. While I’m writing these lines she has still two months from her pregnancy’s third trimester. Perhaps next time we’ll talk about beautiful Gemma, we’ll be lucky enough to talk about her little bundle of joy as well, documenting the inheritance of our beloved Australian model’s amazing DNA.
Until then, however, the answer to the question in the story’s title remains ‘Gemma Ward is home in her native Australia, away from fashion’. (photos via)

Isn’t if the 80’s are really back? Look at her? She looks great though. Good for her. She would be not the first model who turned her back on the model world. She looks happy and healthy. I wish her all the best.
I used to like her, now I like her more, she looks like “model? me no! I’m just being myself out of radards and I enjoy life who care if some take a picture of me in not “model”pose”, she’s really beautiful.

She looks awful, sorry to break the bubble people, she was way to skiny now she’s way to fat, people tend to forget, there are middle points. Gaining a considerable amount of weight in a short period of time it’s also unhealthy
