Emma Watson’s Peter Pilotto’s Colorful Short Dress, People’s Choice Awards 2013

You know who else won an award at tonight’s People’s Choice Awards 2013? Lovely Emma Watson! I already told you a couple of days ago (when we were discussing her Marie Claire pictorial) that her movie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower was receiving serious awards buzz and this night’s honors are only the beginning, I think (the movie also won for People’s Favorite Drama Movie).

But what is Emma wearing? A very colorful mini dress from the British designer Peter Pilotto’s Spring Summer 2013 collection. As you can notice yourself, the dress has been tweaked from the catwalk version, losing length and leg slit but keeping the cut out drama even so.

After her much – talked about short haircut, Emma Watson is slowly but steadily growing back to her usual hair length – I just wish she could do something softer in terms of makeup and hairdo. That orange – y lipstick isn’t doing much except edge up a look that’s already sartorially risqué. And the hair? Could use some styling, actually! (images Jason Merritt, Getty; styledotcom)

I prefer the longer version of the dress. But I understand Emma loves the short one. Looks good on her.
Yep, too much make-up but the hair is fine imo :)

She looked so flat-chested, especially when she sits down and the colourful pattern is not as prominent. Which is weird, since the pattern on the bodice is so convoluted. I really do not like that weird peplum and that harsh lip colour.

This is a fashion fail – IMO.
Emma is too lady like & demure looking to actually pull off this edgy design. But I understand the need / desire to be different especially when the fashion world is your oyster – (lucky gal).

I think she did it. She is young and can pull off short skimpy brightly colored dress. And her hair looks almost like something she’d do herself. In fact, her whole outfit looked like she did it herself- so I think she is comfortable in it, that’s all that matters. I am sure she will be very glamorous when she gets older and more experienced. I like her naivete.
