Kate Moss Balmain Ad Campaign Video Animation

It was big time we brought Antony and the Johnsons back in fashion! With this new behind the scenes advertorial making of Kate Moss for Balmain, my Antony and the Johnsons fix is set. (though they said that this video was filmed during the Spring Summer 2011 campaign fashion shoot, I have to say that to me, it looks identical to the Fall 2010 campaign, so I think that it’s the Fall Winter 2010, not the SS 2011 – take a look for yourself)

Everglade is the name of the song – hence the name of the video. The beautiful animation was provided by the talented Jo Ratcliffe following Inez and Vinoodh‘s vision. Their work is amazingly inspiring so don’t be shy, play that thing! It’s a great way to spend them 3 minutes! (via)

Antony!!! Antony has never been out of fashion here. :)
The animation is beautiful but what does Balmain sell here exactly? Not that I really care I just listen to Antony……:)

(Antony was on Dutch tv for 1,5hr in a row without commercials last week. Time floats. I could have listen like forever. I recorded that programme and watched yet a second time and a third time shall follow….sorry, I’m off topic….)

Yuk. Not only was this ugly, it was creepy! And musically who thinks castrati sells, any more?

What a waste of “talent”.

Feh.

you know… I thought so too the first time I heard Antony. My husband still teases me about this guy’s singing. I cannot listen to it all the time, or at any time. However, Antony and the Johnsons mark something really particular in the musical scene. Today and any day.

Maybe one day you’ll be able to appreciate it. And even if you don’t that’s alright too, they don’t seem to be going anywhere ;) !

Now about the above video – I tried feeling the artistic perspective. The execution more than the significance. There’s hardly something high fashion or really outstanding in having little monsters creeping in and out of one’s hair ;)

First, I hate Kate Moss. totally and unconditionally.
BUT, here I have to admit the casting couldn’t be any better. she is doing it really well.
I agree with you Kpriss. it brings a new perspective to fashion videos(though its not new, i had seem those little monsters somewhere else before, just dont remember where).
The sound track is beautiful.”Castrati” or not, it seems to me that people (LOTS of people)still buy his stuff. His 2009 album was NUMBER ONE in Europe…not bad..
I would call him a multi talented artist instead…

“Castrati”? Huh? *rollseyes*

Multi talented he is! He was here in the Netherlands this year at The Holland Festival, a prestigious festival, THE artist. It was live on tv luckily. Alas it was sold out in no time. I’ve enjoyed it so much. The programme I mentioned was very interesting. Antony talked about tv/movie etc. fragments he chose and why. Such interesting views on life. I’ve recorded it to watch it again.

mdinah: Swanlights, the last album sells very well too.
