To tell you the truth, I missed Natalia Vodianova. At one point she was everywhere, in every magazine, everyone was telling her Cinderella story. But then Lara Stone happened to the fashion population.
Suffering from a serious case of Lara Stone-exhaustion, I fully embrace Nick Night’s Vogue UK shoot with Natalia Vodianova! (the story continues with more images right after the jump!)
At first the cover didn’t impress me much, but then it grew significantly on me: the lilac poem of this February 2010 issue cover doesn’t announce the brilliancy of the actual pictorial inside! Which is heartmeltingly beautiful!
That’s what I’d put under Good Photoshop! The serious amount of artsy retouching and image developing that went through Natalia’s pictures combed the banality off and let the art in. True, there’s also a Wild Things-like fashion ravaging the shores of photography and fashion editing, but let’s not get lost in the criticism and welcome the originality and the romantic breeze of new year’s Vogue UK Vodianova Spell! The cover of this UK Vogue makes me smile as I like the cheery colours used. It brightens up a grey winter day. :) So I do disagree with you about this cover Kpriss.
I do like this layout it is rather striking, and it is nice to see someone other than “no smile for you!” Lara Stone.
Great shoot, nice cover but I haven’t miss her at all pretty as she is. I thought at first: “Hey there’s Natalia again!”.
I dislike the cover but this is so great. I love Natalia and the shoots are magical. Natalia is really back next season. Having known her life, she is a true beauty.
