It’s January. And the awards season already started. For those of us looking forward to see the Red Carpet catwalk (and for those of us only looking for a daily dose of light entertainment) I give you: the 15th annual edition of the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, 2010.
Some of the awards were completely unexpected, some were absolutely predictable. However, given that the awards seasons just begun, surprises still lay ahead. Julianne Moore wasn’t one of the winners. She was nominated for her performance in Tom Ford’s Single Man but lost to Precious’ Mo’Nique. Let us get back to Julianne Moore’s Red Carpet choice: a dramatically red Lanvin dress from the Spring Summer 2010 collection. Cast your vote right after the first image! (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here to see the gallery!)
Though the color would normally be a disastrous choice for a redheaded, the orange-y shade of this Lanvin dress suited Julianne’s complexion. I’m not sure about the cut, however. The ruffles which were supposed to be ample and frilly looks unexpectedly flat and faded on Julianne. Naturally she makes up for the unhappy frock with a lovely smile, as always. (photos via 1, 2)

Yes! There they are then: the freckles. :))
I love this colour on us freckled redheads, Julianne rocks this design.
“It only looks good on the catwalk” wins with miles? What’s the use for “exitement” about these designs anyway if it only does looks good on a clothes hanger? Keep it in the closet and watch at it now and then? Or must a gorgeous and healthy looking woman like Julianna Moore become a skeleton or disappear?
*shakes head*
I adore Julianna but I think this dress looks ill fitting on her and does not flatter her. It is just kind of hanging on her and not doing anything.
The colour is fabu but the styling is not.
Maybe a good bra would have make it better? And my guess is the right arm hole has been cutted out to fit better and hasn’t been finished. The left side has a different cut and/or it’s another fabric.
The cut on the model doesn’t look so good either by the way.
I was kinda carried away by the freckles that shows at last and the colour which I love in summer and suits me well as a fellow redhead.
It’s not a flattering cut – the wearer’s neck totally disappears. But the colour and the attitude is all there – rocked by Julianne.
