Aesthetically speaking, I’m worryingly ambivalent when it comes to this Chanel Fountain Ring! Upon a first, quick look, I was ready to label it “ugly”. But then…
Something happened. Like automatically installing a likeness filter, I started liking this Chanel Joaillerie piece. Not because it’s beautiful (because I still think it’s not, after my standards), but because it has something unique. Then it hit me: that’s the Coco Chanel power, right there! In that 18 carat white gold ring paved with 100 round diamonds! The Gabrielle Coco Chanel distinctiveness! (the story continues with more pictures right after the jump!)
When it comes to jewelry, I’m so conservative, jewelry shops would go bankrupt in a second if there would only be people like me in the world! I only wear my wedding ring (and my studded earrings). But every now I’m breathlessly admiring the craftsmanship and the ethereal aesthetics put into a ring, a necklace, a brooch or whatever jewelry-else!
Take for instance these pieces from the Chanel Fine Joaillerie collection (a lacquered white gold brooch with paraiba, tourmaline and diamonds and the white gold sautoir with diamonds). Would you wear or would you join the admirers ranks like me? (photos via 1, 2)

I must confess that I love this kind of jewellery and the first time I saw this collection (and Camélia too) I couldn’t close my mouth; all that jewells are little pieces of art.
Obviously I don’t like everyone, for example I find this brooch horrible, but I had succumbed to Coco Chanel power too.
They are all rather stunning pieces in their own right. I like them all but I adore the necklace. :)
I’m happy each of you found something beautiful. I haven’t included all the collection in this article, even though all the pieces deserved to be highlighted. But this is truly haute jewelry couture!
