D & G Fragrance Anthology comes out in September 2009 but the ad campaign for this very special, exclusive range of fragrances is already out, causing a stir.
It’s like V 59 revisited : Mario Testino photographed Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell wearing as little as their own skin (highly photoshop-tanned) and occasionally one of the young super-male-models: Fernando Fernandes, Noah Mills, Tyson Ballou. The photos look clean, simple, D & G –aesthetics but something’s missing. I think the advertising is too much based on Testino & the supers secret success recipe (that has diluted so much due to overexposure). Simple is good. But is the new simple D&G Fragrance Anthology that good? (wwd via tfs)

Well I would have to smell the perfumes to really make a decision regarding the influence and success of the ads and to see if I would like any of them. I like to know what are the top notes and low notes of a perfume more than checking out who is photographed or what is photographed to promote it.
