When I look at the Kate Winslet’s dress she chose to wear for the 81th Academy Awards Ceremony, I completely understand why she declared being scared of walking the Red Carpet!
It’s a dress made by Stefano Pilati for Yves Saint Laurent with elements from the 2009 Spring Ready-to-Wear collection. I can’t understand why, from the zillion gorgeous gowns she could find to wear for this important night, she chose this one!
Didn’t anyone tell her the bra is showing too much underneath the silk dress? And that silk, lace and velvet all for the same dress kinda make it too much to bear the sight of? (Oh, and that swept back hair again – she pulls an Evita on us for the 2009 Oscars, or what?) (photos via celebutopia)

Kate looks lovely but I am not too fond of the dress she is wearing.
what? the dress is beautiful!!!! learn more about fashion!!!
it’s not boring as most tend to be.
beautiful dress!!!!
Again, I don’t like the photos but on tv I loved Kate’s look. Kinda 40-ish glamour. Really stylish and beautiful.
very nice dress style, but as an overall view, she looked somewhat matronly.
Gee Richard thanks for the patronizing advice.
I always like to get advice about what dresses that I like or don’t like from a man.
best dress of the night!
(:
Richard, I’ll do that!
The only “good” perspective that dress had, was the back! And that, really, doesn’t help Kate at all!
Ugly dress. The tarzan strap, that ugly color,- it just didn’t bring out the best in her.
