Now that’s a fierce fashion pictorial. Fierce and fantastic! It’s a Tim Burton story. Alongside his beautiful, brilliant wife, Helena Bonham Carter, he poses for Tim Walker in the December’s issue of Vogue UK.
I promised I’d get back with more pictures from this fantastic issue, so here it goes: Tales of the Unexpected is the name, Tim Burton, Helena Bonham-Carter is the game. All in a royal Vogue UK edition. Whenever I see these two, I get a surreal feeling of Chocolate Madness factory! Too bad there’s no Johnny in! How do you like the pictures? (photos via tfs)
While the pictorial is of much larger extent and the Burton – Bonham Carter couple makes only a brief appearance, I’m grateful for the magical story telling. Celebrities are often used in fashion magazines as fashion travels better and further with famous vessels, but rarely have I seen a better match than Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Burton and Tim Walker!

Like a scene from one of Burton’s whimsical movies (Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to name just a few), Tim Walker’s Tales of the Unexpected unravels in Vogue UK’s December 2008 like one of those magical Holidays stories. Crazy imagery and stunning props come together in a mischievous setup animated by two of the most magnetic characters on and off the big screen.

Strangely enough, both Helena and Tim are captivating enough as to make me forget about what they’re wearing. But at the same time, their larger than fashion personas can wear anything without looking overwhelmed or overdressed. Take for instance Helena who can pair her Ralph Lauren dress with a string of faux pearls and a pair of Christian Lacroix satin shoes!

I love their magic, I love their story, I love their work and I love this pictorial – or their segment of it!

Its a pity its so….cheesecake to me. No mystery at all.
Its a bit of fun and I like this shoot!
Its what I expect from this whimsical couple! : )
I’m glad you liked the pictures!
Dolly Bird, it’s true there’s some “staged” feeling to this, but what Tim Burton doing doesn’t leave this aftertaste?
Kpriss you hit it on the nail for me. I did mean it looks staged. I wish they didn’t feel the need to try so hard and do silly funny faces. Being their naturally bewitching selves would have been enough. Its a personal opinion of course a
To continue… I meant Its a personal opinion of course and I do rejoice with fellow fans of Tim and Helena.

I was there at the shoot, they could have much more of the sweetpea field!
Wow. I absolutely adore everything about the both of them. Adorable shoot that shows their creative sides and proves that this dark couple really knows how to have fun!
That’s not Helena in the last photo with him, is it? With the orange hair? I mean, I’ve seen her look ‘different’, but that can’t be her… :S
Cherie, you’re right! We all overlooked that. I believe that’s Karen Elson…oops….especially me….
