Hermes Wins Lawsuit Against Counterfeiters. Good Or Bad?

A Manhattan federal court lawsuit order decided that Hermes should be awarded $100 Million in a lawsuit against counterfeit goods selling sites. The trademark infringement and counterfeiting measures ordered like closing down the websites in question include the search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo) stop providing links for the said websites.

Hermes counterfeit goods sites banned Would this mean the end of bad taste affordable fake Hermes bags hanging on every pretended fashionista’s arm out there? Or it’s just a drop in an ocean of counterfeit goods? Honestly, were you ever tempted to buy fake designer goods? Although I contemplated the issue myself, I think it’s lack of respect for the work put into those designer (luxury) goods to go ahead and buy something fake and pretend it’s the real deal (also lack of respect towards the global financial situation).

Without a doubt, good. The ‘replica’ industry is explo!tive and cr!m!nal. Shame on those insecure folk wishing to deceive by carrying these items, not considering the human misery and organised cr!me involved in counterfeiting.

Totally in favour of the decision. There is a mafia behind counterfeit goods, exploiting people to work under appaling conditions.
There as thousands of beautiful products from different labels. I don´t own one single Hermes bag and never ever was criticized for my choices.

Thankyou ana,
The very idea of clutching a
‘replica’ Kelly, pretending to have the good fortune to purchase such an item, while, I hope unknowingly, supporting
criminality and exploitation is disgusting.

Have you both ever read Dana Thomas’ “DELUXE: How Luxury Lost It’s Lustre” (2007) or Roberto Saviano’s “Gomorrah” (2007) it contains also information how the Italian fashion industry operates. If you’ve not read these books you you should.
