Yves Saint Laurent Love Exhibition In Montreal

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts displays a very special 40 years of creation retrospective: Yves Saint Laurent.

Focusing on four themes, the exhibition coordinates are “The Stroke of a Pencil” where you can follow the idea from the sketch on, “The Yves Saint Laurent Revolution” where feminized men’s clothes go together with seductive attire. “The Palette” where colors meet and blend surprisingly in new amazing ways. “Lyrical Sources” where Yves Saint Laurent found his revolutionary inspiration.

Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective

The exhibition is presented in Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from May 29 to September 28 2008 and it will be followed by The De Young Museum of San Francisco from November 1, 2008 to March 1, 2009.
It’s always good to make some fashion history, it helps remember that it’s not always about money… Would you rather go to this YSL retrospective or the Chanel Mobile Art Exhibition?(if it’s still on)

And Another One: Usher’s Baby Fragrance

Launching his own perfume wasn’t enough for Usher. When celebrating this special celeb-turned- designer-something-event, he made quite an announcement:

His 6 month old son is the reason why Elizabeth Arden through Liz Clairborne Cosmetics signed a deal for a baby fragrance. In other words, Usher’s singing career is not as profitable as his son. “Yeah!” What’s next? (or who’s next? Imagine how many perfumes could Angie’s kids inspire!)

Cavalli’s Oxford Wisdom: Revelations

After revealing his high esteem for celeb-turned-designer and their collections in his recent interview in Cannes, Roberto Cavalli is unstoppable.

Invited at Oxford University, Cavalli wasn’t to much into fashion talk, the students going gossip talk about the Spice Girls. “They’re all very nice.Who is the blonde one? Emma? She’s very nice, at least she can sing.”. Oh, joy! After letting everyone know about JLo pregnancy before any official statement from the singer, now he’s revealing that there only one Singing Spice Girl, in fact… And the others? Just backing vocals or imposed by the choreography scheme?
Either way, I can hardly wait the next public statement from Mr Cavalli..

Robert Lee Morris For Olsen’s Elizabeth And James

Now that’s going to be some interesting collection! Robert Lee Morris, the awarded sculptor and jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris has worked on an accessory line for Elizabeth And James.

The Olsens are reportedly head over heels with his creations so in few months we’ll be honored with this very special line. Here are some of Mr Morris creations to freely speculate on how the collection will look like (they’re pretty enough, I wonder what the Olsen touch will do to ravage them!).

Friday Break – Kevin James Dance Moves From Hitch

Every now and then we all need some dancing lessons and letting go techniques. Not to mention some catchy music.

Hitch wasn’t that much of a hit and it surely isn’t a cult movie. But this Friday I wanted something allegedly shallow to disconnect. Unexpected but always funny – Kevin James expressing himself in front of Doctor Hitch on Usher Yeah. “That’s what it’s all about right there : (…) I start the fire, I make the pizza! (…) Roll it away!”

Sharon Stone And Her Bad Dior Karma

You know that sometimes bad things happen to good people.. like earthquakes (like the one from China)…

Well, I guess bad things happen to bad people also! Sharon Stone made a disgraceful comment on the kindness of Chinese people towards the “Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine. And then all this earthquake and all this stuff happened and I though, is that karma – when you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?”

Sharon Stone Dior Ads

In response, Dior China released an apology and a promise to help reconstruction. Maybe even drop “very sad” Sharon from the campaign.
How’s that for basic bad juju?
