St. John Fall Winter 2008 2009 Advertising Campaign
July 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
Looking at these pictures had me all nostalgic about Angie and her artsy photos for St John. Why they ditched her, it’s still a mystery to me.
The fact remains, however, that they too target the zombies. Hilary Rhonda, Bianca Balti and Marina Peres, gloriously posed together and I don’t feel any shopping breeze coming from these widowy pictures. Do you?

Raquel Zimmerman Fendi Fall Winter 2008 2009 Ad Campaign

Now that has the Kaiser written allover! Stiff, dark, geometrical.
Shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself, this Fendi Fall Winter 2008 2009 attracts me not in such a strong way, I can hardly describe it! I really don’t get the point of making such cold lifeless advertising. It’s supposed to make zombies buy clothes and bags? (you can see the backstage videos after the jump, and, believe it or not, it really was a sunny day when they took the pictures!)
Caroline Trentini Dolce And Gabbana Fall Winter 2008 2009 Ad Campaign

If they wouldn’t have wrote Dolce & Gabbana I would’ve swore on a Prada or Miu Miu.. Oh, well…
So here’s Caroline Trentini for the Eyewear D & G campaign. Steven Klein focused on the eyes, it’s easy to see but the province solitaire teacher-like pose has me a bit disappointed. Does it look good to you?

Kate Moss Donna Karan Fall Winter 2008 2009 Ad Campaign

It’s a Mert and Marcus Affair. And look at that Indiana Jones flavor written allover the photo! It’s like a new Indy was on the way this year! Not too different from the DK spring-summer campaign…
I like the old-look, I like the kinda laid-back attitude, I strongly dislike the bags. It’s like a dawn of life pose. The good thing is that looking at this picture I could go on a endless novel-like ramble. About a woman going in a self-discovery trip, holding something both romantic and tragic in her initiative. Am I going too far?

Daria Werbowy Dior Fall Winter 2008 2009 Advertising Campaign
July 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
There’s something Onassis-like in this Craig McDean picture. And it’s not just the seventies color, the structure and perfect composure of the silent photo.
It’s Daria too. She looks so cutout for that ladylike pose it was a brilliant choice for Dior. It all looks like a lifeless sculpture, I give it that much, but it’s a beautiful one. Except holding that bag like a trophy of some kind. And then we wonder why tags count so much.. well, wouldn’t be in the attitude?

Mulberry Fall Winter 2008 2008 Advertising Campaign
July 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
“Lay me down in a bed of ….” Handbags. Axl should’ve thought about that when he wrote that Guns’n’Roses song line.
Or at least if he didn’t , Mulberry sure did! Because their Fall Winter 2008 2009 Ad Campaign features Natasa V and Iselin Steiro photographed by Steven Meisel among Mulberry Bags. Could it be an accidental resemblance to the LV spring summer thing? Or we’re to expect the raise of a new trend – on the back ad campaigns?

Calvin Klein Jeans Ads
July 3rd, 2008 by kpriss
I love how they stuck to their style ever since Kate Moss. I don’t even have to judge the jeans presented in the ad, they’re simply, black and white CK!
I have a problem with the presentation, however. Abbey Lee, Agnete and Gordon photographed by Steven Meisel. Now that gay marriages are a legal matter, could be hello, bigamy, next? Just asking… you’re welcome to redirect my first opinion about this CK Ad!
Louis Vuitton Deluxe Edition Monogram
July 2nd, 2008 by kpriss
Now that everyone and his dog knows how the LV monogram looks like, Louis Vuitton is taking the bling road.
A diamond logo parure with gems in the form of the brand’s monogram motif: a three-strand necklace ($2,8 million) with articulated platinum and diamond-bow closures, a 6.25 carat diamond ring with monogrammed side bands ending in a slim bow at the bottom of the ring. The images are yet to be released so I put together a photo with LV jewelry creations already available so we could have a proper image of what monogram-mania is. I don’t want to point the finger and I know that the struggle for commercial survival is a jungle ruled one, but do we really need all this tagging?
