Pierre Cardin’s Lacoste Village, France
March 2nd, 2009 by kpriss
Fashion and art always went together like butter and toast. But imagine fashion and art marching hand in hand with le Marquis de Sade and Lacoste! And Pierre Cardin!
One of the fashion world’s controversies involves Mr Pierre Cardin and his interest for a particular cultural patrimony – le village Lacoste from France.
The small village (under 500 people) was properly invaded by Mr Cardin: he bought Marquis De Sade’s castle ruins (remember the impressive Wind Pavilion we talked about months back?) and many from the village’s houses. (more information and pictures right after the jump!)

Jennifer Lopez New Haircut
March 2nd, 2009 by kpriss
…new album on the way? Jennifer Lopez was photographed sporting a new wig… ahem haircut this weekend.
Freshly beautified, JLo leaving her hairstylist’s salon (Byron & Tracey, Beverly Hills) was looking quite odd. While I was really hoping she had a wig, the images proved that it really was her natural hair! It was so carefully meched and soigneusement cut and she was looking rather pleased with the result.
I may be conservative, but I preferred Jennifer’s natural brunette look. This new hairdo is so studied and colored, I can’t get it under my skin. Can you? (photos via celebutopia)

The Versace Shoes And Bags For Spring Summer 2009
March 1st, 2009 by kpriss
Versace was an instant hit when the first store was opened in Italy back in 1978. Gianni Versace’s brutal killing (1997) turned the company round to his sister and brother: Donatella and Santo.
Donatella took the design as her main charge, addressing to the strong, independent but terribly sexy women. The Spring Summer 2009 Ad campaign features Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen (and Patrick Dempsey for the man collection). The accessories collection, however, didn’t impress me one bit! The She Driver Set – Screwdrivers For Women
February 28th, 2009 by kpriss
If you didn’t like using screwdrivers, now’s the time to change your mind! Preconceptions away, here come the Girly Screwdriver set!
I would very much mind if I was to use those feathered tools – they look more like lollipops than serious tools to help around the house, but maybe that’s just me! Would you use the She Driver set just as it is? Does it change your perspective on hand tools and gadgets? (via 1, 2)
Kate Moss Proudly Presents Kate Summer Time Perfume
February 28th, 2009 by kpriss
After seeing her proudly show off the new enhanced, feminine curves, the Kate Moss from the advertising poster of her new perfume looks rather strange.
Not to mention the poster doesn’t keep up with Kate’s current hairdo, but she obviously lacks the pounds she was so fiercely talking about in that NY Magazine interview. Oh well, l’impitoyable marketing! (don’t miss the details right after the jump!)

Shreds And Pieces, Blogaround Deconstruction
February 28th, 2009 by kpriss
Rocking around the internet fashion savvy writers, I noticed there was a heavy tendance towards shredding… The un-put-together look gains more and more terrain.
Heavily deconstructed, decomposed and chaotically rebuilt, everything falls into the most serious style category, category for which I would be more than ready to empty a vast parcel in my wardrobe! Let’s hit the blogaround!
The classics have their places assured! Chanel is still Chanel, even if you spell it in paint drops!
Easy does it: denim never goes out of eyes, out of style! Cut’em, shred’em! Jeans remain!
I was thinking… What’s a vest if not a piece of a coat/cardi/t-shirt? Is the vest still in?
Of course there’s always room for newcomers: Alexander Wang’s oversized jumper could make me ignore the summer thermometer any day!
And my absolute favorite street-styler who caught up with a Rodarte-like sweater, la piece de resistance de toutes les decomposed wardrobes de monde!
This decomposing thing must be behind the Wild Child chic haunting the magazines!
…or the socialites… Who knew Paris could do such an amazing distressed Ostrich?
Now I’ll put myself together after seeing so much dechirement and invite you all to have a sweet pancake break! (photo via jakandjil)
Hugs In Advertising – The Absolut Succes!
February 27th, 2009 by kpriss
It’s such a wonderful manifestation! Hugging! We all know that so it was only natural it would be used for advertising purposes.
I’m not one to consume ads on toast but I really liked this one so it was natural that I share the pleasant experience with you! It’s an ad campaign called “Hugs” for Absolut. (more after the jump!)
April March Chick Habit Vs. France Gall Laisse Tomber Les Filles
February 27th, 2009 by kpriss
I have a Tarantino addiction so I decided to throw him this Friday Break (plus we did mentioned Rosario Dawson lately so she reminded me of this)! The last Tarantino released until present days is Grindhouse. Made in 2007, it consists in two independent movies called Planet Terror and Death Proof.
While both were written by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, directing the movies was a one-man job: Robert Rodriguez did Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino was in charge of Death Proof.
There’s also something worth mentioning regarding the movies soundtracks: Planet Terror’s soundtrack was composed by Robert Rodriguez himself. Death Proof’s soundtrack is a perfect example of Tarantino-movie-sound: eclectic yet very true to his style. (more information and another video right after the jump!)
