Hilary Duff’s Femme For DKNY Jeans Collection

I won’t even try hard to demonstrate how Hilary Duff’s Femme collection for DKNY Jeans project a very distorted image, the photos (ad campaign vs. real life) will speak for themselves.

The simple truth is that Hilary’s “collection” won’t sell because of her exquisite designer talents but because it’s something Hilary Duff-related. Assuming that this Femme by Hilary Duff for DKNY Jeans was also photographed by Scott Schuman, the after effects team is held entirely responsible for slimming down sweet Hilary and mercilessly photoshopping her beyond recognition! Twilight Tattoos

It’s time for another Tattoo article! And why not? Tattoos have their own fashion seasons, their own couturiers, their own models. Anyone can model a tattoo, not anyone can model haute couture. So… it’s rainin’ tattoos!

While there’s an undeniable likeness of the Twilight books trilogy and the onscreen chemistry between Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) makes everyone (and their respective dogs) dream about some twilight love, tattooing some Twilight-relevant symbol, phrase or film character could be a wrong move. The Black Barbie Issue, Vogue Italy July 2009

It seems that Summer is the time to shine for Vogue Italy. Last year’s Black Issue was so impressive and successful that this year was somewhat reinterpreted with The Barbie Issue!

Everybody’s talking about Barbie this year, everybody’s celebrating one way or the other. But how about Black Barbies? Shouldn’t we celebrate them too? Good thing Franca Sozzani (Vogue Italy supreme editor) thought about them and highlighted the Black Barbie in a special Barbie Issue supplement to the Vogue July with McMenamy the Legend. (you got that right, the McMenamy article was just the introduction for this glorious Vogue Italy July 2009!) (more images right after the jump!)

Betsey Johson Archive Collection At Opening Ceremony

There are things in fashion I just can’t get under my skin no matter what! I’m taking this Opening Ceremony Collection pretext to ask you where your fashion limits are.

Regardless of my love for experimenting and getting in accord with new trends and seasons sensations, it takes just few seconds of looking at this Betsey Johnson Archive Collection from Opening Ceremony to know how fashbounded I really am! (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures!)

Kristen McMenamy Does Vogue Italy July 2009

I was very reserved when I saw Kristen McMenamy’s photos from Vogue Italia July 2009. Photographed by Steven Meisel and supposedly being a recognition of her supermodel status, the pictures look pretty frightening.

Not because of Kristen. Or maybe because of her. But it all looks so cold, so unalive I can’t think of anything else but the undead, goth inspiration for this upcoming Fall season. Which is not very fash-inviting to me. I like my fashion to be funny and sunny! (the story continues with more images and a video right after the jump!)

The Sartorialist, Scott Schuman’s Book

I know you were holding your breath for this one (lol) so here it goes: The Sartorialist book review! It would come as no surprise at all to see the logic scheme presented earlier repeating itself over and over in the 512 pages of Scott Schuman’s chef d’oeuvre.

You have 46 cigarettes presented by either the 47 old, rich Europeans photographed (duh!) or the 19 women wearing blazers and/or suits et caetera. But The Sartorialist is essentially about accessories: 52 hats and 90 scarves, 9 bikes. Only 19 models made it in the glossy pages of Scott Schuman’s book, 31 short pants pictures were also included as well as a picture of a man wearing heels.

I find it rather intriguing that you can only see two pictures of the Sartorialist’s love interest, Mlle Garance Doré but you can admire Giovanna Battaglia’s style in 10 photos (she’s a freelance stylist, L’Uomo Vogue editor, former model)! (the cover is proudly held by Julie Ragolia, NY’s City Magazine editor/stylist in case you were hoping it was a regular style-Jane Doe!) (via 1, 2)

M.I.A ‘s Son Ikhyd Dressed As Mum

We all (somewhat) remember M.I.A.’s Grammy’s performance. And I’m not talking about her vocal qualities! I’m talking about her 9 months pregnant self, on the Grammy stage, performing while (heavily) with bébé.

Well, M.I.A.’s now introducing Ikhyd (I’m still puzzled about the spelling), her 5-month-old son. And what do you know? He’s wearing a very similar bodysuit to the Henry Holland one his very talented mom was wearing on that Grammy stage! The sweetest little thing! (via)
