Betsey Johson Archive Collection At Opening Ceremony

There are things in fashion I just can’t get under my skin no matter what! I’m taking this Opening Ceremony Collection pretext to ask you where your fashion limits are.

Regardless of my love for experimenting and getting in accord with new trends and seasons sensations, it takes just few seconds of looking at this Betsey Johnson Archive Collection from Opening Ceremony to know how fashbounded I really am! (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures!)

I’m a dress girl, you know that by now (and I really, really love long dresses). That doesn’t get in the way of my jeans girl alter ego or tracksuit alter ego to manifest every now and then. But that must fall in the average fashion scene. I don’t even wear skinny jeans anymore, how outfashioned I must look to the sea of fashionistas out there! But you know what? I’m really happy that way and I sleep really good at night! (whenever there’s not a tooth making his way out or some tummy ache keeping the toddlers up and crying in the wee hours of morning)

Betsey Johnson’s past collections were reviewed by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim from Opening Ceremony and they came out with this capsule collection (supposedly the best of the best, the iconic Betsey beyond doubt) called Betsey Johnson Archive that should set fashionistas on fire and should fly the clothes off the Opening Ceremony shelves! If it was up to me, they’d end up in sales like in a blink! Not even being worn by Edie Sedwick in Ciao Manhattan doesn’t help! (I saw a dubious video with the Ciao Manhattan tapes – you can taste it yourself here) So this reload of Betsey Johson’s models is definitely one of my fashion limits. Where are yours? Since I’m one of those Ancients who is old enough to have worn this stuff the first time around, I’m going to have to give it a pass — but it’s sure fun to look at. Johnson’s stuff in general is just way too young for me to wear now, but it always makes me smile.

Johnson can be fun at times. But I don’t desire this collection. My fashion limits are now definitely to ignore any celeb line or promo by a celeb. There’s my line. No celebs anyMORE!

I like Betsy Johnson’s sense of fun and whimsy with her designs but I do not find this collection that appealing. I do love the boots that the model is wearing though.
