Antonio Berardi Spring Summer 2010 Collection

You know what they say, that simplicity has a killer elegance you can’t obtain with tons of frills and thrills. Well, Antonio Berardi’s simplicity for Spring Summer 2010 was too simple.

The too simple simplicity, the killer of all styles. Yes, it’s a beautiful collection, I’m sure everyone who was on it worked pretty hard and that’s why they deserve the standing ovations. Fashionwise, though, I felt too young for Antonio Berardi. (which can’t be good, since I’m only 18!) (the story continues right after the jump with more images and a video of the Antonio Berardi Fashion Show!)

Ralph Lauren And The Photoshop Issues

Ralph Lauren. A very respected fashion brand. Photoshop. A very respected computer application. Filippa Hamilton, a very respected model. The Blogosphere. A very respected Vigilante.

Take the above mentioned, carefully stir them together and you have the viral Ralph Lauren ad poster with Filippa Hamilton whose upper body was photoshoped out of its regular anatomic proportions. First spotted on Photoshop Disaster, it spread, being furtherpublished by Boing Boing and so on. (click through to find out what happened in the Blogosphere Vs Ralph Lauren case!)

Marge Simpson Covers Playboy November 2009. Wait, What?

My heart can’t take this! Marge Simpson? On the cover of Playboy Magazine, a month avant-fetes?

I bet they’re having a special Disney issue for December! Behold! Ariel the Mermaid, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan and Snow White and a special feature from Tiana from the upcoming Princess and the Frog in a special Playboy spread and an explosive cover! (of course, this is all a marketing scheme meant to rejuvenate the readers ranks now in the mid 30s!) (photo via)

Timberland’s Design Your Own Boots!

The boots time approaches and it’s time to go on that pleasurable, fatigable boots hunt! Finding the perfect boot, both trendy and comfortable (you know, not like that thoughtless third percent of the female population recklessly choosing fashion over comfort!) is often mission: impossible. At least as far as my exigent self goes!

Timberland, the legendary boots company thought beyond commerce and they’re now inviting us to an interactive initiative: design your own boots/shoes! You have seven basic styles to start from and so many ways to work them up to meet your highest boots-expectation! (the story continues right after the jump!)

Isabelle Huppert, Tilda Swinton Do Vogue Germany’s Anniversary Issue

I have to admit, I purposely snubbed Vogue Germany’s October 2009 Anniversary Issue. And that’s easily understandable if you, just like I do, dislike Karl Lagerfeld’s clichés, obsessions and late convictions about models and fashion.

However, der Kaiser is pretty much a fashion carousel you want to jump in to sooner or later and catch that spinning malaise from the richness of all things life/style/fashion. That’s how I brought myself around to actually write something about the abovementioned 30th Anniversary issue: about some outstanding black and white portraits of Isabelle Huppert, Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton, Heike Makatsch and Melanie Thierry. Lenny Kravitz If You Can’t Say No

I found myself in a Kravitz craving this week so this really falls like a natural break today! I loved his music since forever, his way of insinuating that guitar under your skin and rock those dread locks of his early days.

Thanking you for this wonderful week, for your beautiful comments, I hope you have the most amazing weekend yet! (and thanks to Ellington for reminding me: Happy Thanksgiving! for those celebrating) Enjoy Lenny Kravitz If You Can’t Say No! (more after the jump!)

Dare to Wear Valerie Rubinaccio’s Chain Rings?

I’ve been waiting for something like this. I bet Rihanna and Lady Gaga were too! Let’s see who makes them and why!

The Chain Rings are fresh from the oven, first launched this summer and, what was to be expected, critically acclaimed. It seems that fashion is going to the DIY extreme soon! An infusion of indie diy style is taking the world by storm and Valerie Rubinaccio’s Chain Rings make no exception! (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)

The Trendiest Friday Outfit

The Breton Top is the fashion uniform these days. Why not give it a try this Friday? It’s timeless, it’s perfect, it’s in your wardrobe! I’m sure of it! If you dig deep down, you’ll find something similar! (I had the pleasant surprise of discovering two long sleeved Breton tops in some dark forgotten place in my very own outdated mummy wardrobe!).

You may or may not want to pair it with those skinny leather pants, like Dree Hemingway here, but the Breton top’s versatility will happily match it with almost anything you treasure in your closet: wide leg, fit leg, boot cut jeans/pants. Even leggings, if you feel like flaunting it! (the story continues right after the jump!)
