Angelina Jolie Adopts Syrian Baby. Without Brad

In a completely parallel universe, the tabloids have gone a week or so without having Angelina or Brad (or both) on the cover. Now they’re coming back big: Angelina Jolie is adopting a Syrian baby. Once a brilliant design idea from Memphis, now a pop-museum-worthy piece, the Tawaraya boxing ring bed is currently exhibited in Paris (in Azzedine Alaia’s gallery, to be more specific).

The Tawaraya boxing ring bed was the work of the Memphis group (a Milan-based handful of extraordinary creative minds in furniture and product design) – that you can actually see in a photo from 1981, in the original ring bed (right after the jump!). A monochrome striped base with multicolored “ropes” and light bulbs at each of the four corners of the ring, the bed was the handy work of Masanori Umeda, a Japanese architect collaborating with Memphis at the time. It was an absolute declaration of love for the color, the use of color in design/architecture.

If there was any room of doubt in your heart that Garange and Sarto are really an item, take a closer look at this picture. It’s authentic, my special Photoshop wand never touched it! (ok, except a minor crop followed by a quick Image Size to fit my column, but that innocent, really!)

While the world seems to revolve around Gaga’s new Bad Romance video, I hereby protest against the praising and the amazement this above mentioned music video spawned in every single fash-style-gossip adorer out there.

I was impressed with the video. In a bad way. So I won’t go about it, I’ll go about art. The Gaga kind of art. Photographed by Hedi Slimane this time, Gaga looks fierce. But acceptable. Artsy but easy to stomach. She’s not burning, she’s not electrocuting anybody, she’s not poisoned et caetera. What say you? (have you seen the Bad R video? Given the buzz around lovely Gemma these days, Lilo felt somewhat neglected. For Lindsay Lohan is the queen of all gossip voodoo. So the word is out that Lindsay was dating Heath Ledger at the time of his death (last January). It’s sad to see what fame hunger can push one to say and do pretty much anything for attention!
