Dare To Wear Clothes Without Brands Or Logos?

In these days of glory for the brands/logos fashion, this comes as thunder for the most logos aficionados out there: logoless and brandless clothes! Who dares to wear nameless garments?

It’s actually a smart initiative from a streetwise brand called Freshjive. In an effort to create fashion and make it wearable just for the good fashion reasons, Rick Klotz, designer and owner of Freshjive (and RMK, Warriors of Radness) tries to take off the tribe/gang feeling of wearing the same logo/brand starting with his Spring 2010 collection. (the story continues right after the jump!)

Designing a brand’s logo and building a brand’s identity from that point on is a challenge for any designer out there. Inspiration and creativity bond together in this very special project of branding/logoing. But at some point, things got further and deeper. At some point, brands, logos became more powerful than the brands, images took over speeding the entire non/fashion process. This is a great initiative to freshen up the perspective on fashion and bring some consistency to the way we dress.

Wearing this and that should never be a question of label or logo. It should be conditioned by the way it feels/fits. Being honest with your wardrobe and your mirror is a great challenge and Freshjive’s initiative is the path to sanitize fashion. Would you take it? (The Hundreds via PSFK)

Dare to wear clothes without a brand or a logo? Is it over then? Does it go away at last? Really? As you know I hate the logo and brand trend with a passion. I hate, hate, hate it!!! Always have. I hated it from the start. It divide people, I found it nouveau riche, stupid, snobbish, ridiculous and it’s a lie but great for people who have not a personal style of their own and it’s expensive…..I’ve to stop now…..I was the only one I believe…does it go away now, promise…yes?

Do I dare to wear clothes without a brand or a logo: OH YES, I LOVE TOO! :D

Yes Adriana I so agree with you on this! I too hate wearing labels for the sake of just wearing a label or brand. If I like something and if it is by a certain designer so be it but I have never ever been the type to go get something because it is Prada, Versace, LV or whatever. I find that behavior rather gauche and for the fashion sheep.
So this is a nice idea to me. The only labels that I really care for is the size label so I know what I am getting, the content label so I know if it is cotton or silk, and the washing label so I know how to take care of it. :)

Elllington, yes, those last labels you mentioned I do care a lot about because they are inside a piece and they are useful. But if I’m familiar with them I carefully cut or torn those off or out too….reason? Because they are itchy or they show! ;)

Wearing just only labeled clothes are so materialism. I care about the design and how it suits me. If one beautiful prada dress doesn’t suit me, so i’m not buying it. Cloth always reflects a hanger. I have many tees with no label on. They are great!!

Seriously??As long as i like the clothes and they’re cute, i would wear them without the brand or logo! For the people that don’t i feel sorry for them because it doesnt matter what brand you’re wearing as long as you’re comfortable in what ur wearing and wearing too many brands at the same time is sorta like bragging about how much brand stuff u have!
