Burberry Children Collection Campaign

Missing the good old Burberry ad campaign? Though I will be talking about Burberry and advertising, I’ll completely and totally forget about Emma Watson, focusing on Burberry’s kids collection.

Yep, wouldn’t you love some Burberry in your posh baby’s wardrobe? Just look at these images and tell me you wouldn’t! (I know you recognize the format, and yes, it’s pretty much the same one used in the infamous Emma Watson campaign. With splashes and prints, to make it more kid-friendly – hit the jump to see more!). Oh, Burberry! How I love thee!

The Designer And His Colorful Models

Now I’ll just go on the fun note, to forget the frowning caused by the earlier mentioned article.

This is a bright, colored photo meant to remind us all that fashion is supposed to be funny and life full. This balloon fashion moment is signed by Willy Chyr and was presented at the Festival of the Arts, Chicago IL, 2009. I won’t go as far as asking you if you’ll wear a balloon dress, I’ll just stare for a moment at this image and let the smiles fill me up, hoping you feel the same way. (Willy Chyr via Suprbo)

What’s A Mother’s Style?

I was thinking about this for awhile. It just comes and goes. And with your help, I’m going to make it stay this time.

You know me and from the bits and pieces I’ve slipped here and there, you know many things about my style. And you also know I’m a mother. A happy wife and mother. Which should lower me heavily in the fashion community eyes. Because fashionistas, the real ones, only have eyes and heart (have they? A heart, really?) for fashion. Well. Not this girl here! (the story continues right after the jump)

Our Lord & Saviour Python And Crocodile Leather Cluthes

With Easter just around the corner, this collection from “Our Lord & Saviour” caught my eye. There’s too little I understand, to my great shame, about religious symbolism translated into fashion or everyday objects. And the very sight of misused (in my view) sacred symbols creeps me big time.

Getting back to the clutches: “Our Lord & Saviour” showcased the Fall Winter 2010 collection under the “Olympus Teneo” signature. The python leather and the crocodile leather versions retail at $3,265 and $8,695 respectively. While I’m sure the Lord himself kindly disapproves all this, let me fill you in on the bags creator (Jason Salstein) explanations right after the jump!

Pierre Hardy Sandals For Gap Spring Summer 2010

Have I told you about those wedges I’m dreaming of this season? I misplaced my favorite pair of high heeled sandals (you know, changing houses can do that to one’s wardrobe!) and all I can think of right now (besides tearing the place upside down for the seventh time, searching my beloved sandals) is a chunky pair of “compensées” like the French say.

And where from if not the GAP? One of my favorite street fashion labels. They’ve been working with Pierre Hardy on their sixth season and the results look amazing! (besides the denim sandals pictured below, right after the jump you’ll see some more images from the collection’s Tokyo preview – needless to say, I’d like to have the dresses and pretty much everything they’re on to this Spring Summer 2010!). Available in the Gap stores in late April, the sandals range from $80 to $120. What do you think? (via 1, 2, 3, 4)

Rodarte For UNICEF Collection With Maggie Cheung

Now for those of you feeling moody today and not really crunching Perry Como’s Papa Loves Mambo – I have something ready for you! Hot out of the oven (where I’m thinking of rolling in a Banana Tarte Tatin later on which I’m still negotiating with my Adored Husband whose Cinnamon Rolls favorites still lay around, freshly baked earlier today, but that’s another story altogether).

Rodarte worked on a charitable collection for UNICEF, with Swarovski Elements and Maggie Cheung. The four one of a kind designs were inspired by Maggie herself and her four movies (In The Mood For Love, Hero, Clean, Heroic Trio). The short movie below highlights Rodarte‘s unique collection under Wing Shya’s directives with music by Peter Kam. (they say each view of this short film donates HK1$ to the Unicef). (via)

This is one happy tune I’d dance around and sing along any time! I hope you do too since it’s our Friday Break this week!

I trust you had a wonderful week, I know I did, having you here with me! Thanking you so much for your insightful comments, I wish you have the most amazing weekend yet! Papa Loves Mambo sung here by Perry Como in 1954 is one of the best known versions of this popular song. Enjoy! (more info right after the jump!)

MDLR Moises De La Renta For Mango Collection

Looking back at some of our latest features, I keep repeating over and over again in my head that even if some get lucky and work out a busy style, the classic golden rule of less is more works out in most of the cases.

Hence this MDLR Moises de la Renta for Mango Collection looks wonderfully simple yet with an amazing, stylish twist. Wear that tee with a simple (skinny or not) jean and it’ll make a fashionista out of you! I’d be checking those out myself, see what busy neckline suits me best! (via)
