Underwater Photography Solve Sundsbo’s Girl From Atlantis
April 10th, 2010 by kpriss
As you may have noticed, I’m pretty impressed when it comes to photography. Real photography, artistic, artsy. Not the computer-enhanced kind (not the airbrush-tool kind).
And as such, you may also recall a special series of photographs taken by Solve Sundsbo a while back under the title “Invitation a la danse”. Now I’m taking my hat off to Solve Sundsbo once more: The Girl from Atlantis is downright amazing! Part of Vogue Nippon’s May 2010 edition, this pictorial could just as well be one of the best interpretations of McQueen’s alien-ish collection. The Rolling Stones As Tears Go By
April 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Missed that? I did! (and I’ll make it up to you) Thank you for this wonderful week, for your beautiful comments! I hope you’re ready to have your most amazing weekend yet!
With no melancholy (ok, maybe just a bit), in a true vintage spirit, here’s the Rolling Stones with As Tears Go By from the sixties! And if you enjoyed that (and a bit of sing-along while admiring Mick Jagger’s determination to perform while sitting in just one place for the entire two minutes and half), then please consider Marianne Faithfull’s version, right after the jump! (and more)
Chanel Interieurs Peinture Noire
April 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Whether the following is an authentic fake is beyond the actual point of the story. The haute irony of this “Peinture Noire” seconds the authenticity issue to the actual artsy-ness of it all.
Vulgarizing luxury products into wide circulation goods (well, in this case, it’s not like it was bread or the already famous Chanel french fries, but painting oil is a pretty strong symbol) is something I value more than the luxury product itself. Not to mention the packaging, which, in this case, makes up for the non-authenticity issue. Does it not? (via)
Stella McCartney’s $2,000 Wooden Accordion Clutch. Would You?
April 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Less is definitely more (with minor exceptions, biensur). However, when it comes to highly luxurious goods, I’m having a hard time either finding something I could describe as such (less – more), either finding something worth the four figures (or more) price tag. At least when we’re talking about bags.
Stella McCartney’s Accordion Clutch is as surprising as it can be. Not only the name is a perfect fit for the object, but it catches the eye and raises eyebrows at a perfectly fit rate for the $2,045 price. Wear it with or without the rose sating pouch, though I would go “without” for a full effect (click through to see more details). So tell me, would you wear this wooden clutch? (NaP via tPB)
Marion Cotillard Is Lady Dior Lady Blue Shanghai
April 9th, 2010 by kpriss
You know The Eyes of Mars was pretty successful for a celeb-featuring song. I heard it on the radio a coupe of times and it haunted my mind days after. Sure it was a typical Franz Ferdinand song, and still…
We only have the teaser image from Marion Cotillard‘s upcoming Lady Dior campaign. Taking place in Shanghai, Lady Dior Lady Blue Shanghai was directed by David Lynch and the print campaign shot by Steven Klein. With such names, it’s hard to believe the campaign will turn out unpleasant. I just hope it’ll be less noir than the previous Lady Dior campaigns. Though with Lynch a bord… What do you think? Noir ou pas noir? (photo via)
How To Get The Selby In Your Place
April 9th, 2010 by kpriss
From the over talented people who gave us “How to appear on The Sartorialist” there goes another useful guide for the blogosphere people: How to get The Selby In Your Place, at your very door!
Since The Sartorialist is obviously in disgrace amongst the people of the fashblogosphere, this comes as a blessed alternative. Pin it on your wall and look at it every night before you go to sleep. Never knows who comes knocking at your (very stylish) door the next morning! (it’ll all become very clear if you follow the necessary steps right after the jump!) (via)
Gwyneth Paltrow Covers Vogue UK May 2010
April 7th, 2010 by kpriss
It has been a while since Gwyneth’s notorious Vogue covers. Going for a portrait cover this time, Gwyneth Paltrow seems to take more pride in her Goop-ish ways than her acting ways.
Even so, I’m sure there’s a Gwyneth-movie coming up sometime soon, so this UK Vogue May 2010 cover only comes as a result of the promotional campaign. Regardless, I think Gwyneth can do so much more than show her pretty face and preach a certain lifestyle. Do you do Goop? (photo via)

Gaga’s New Shoes
April 6th, 2010 by kpriss
This is what she should seriously consider for her next shows/videos: Sciancalepore Caroline’s “socles pour femme”.
The concept itself is far from new as we’ve seen it appear on the catwalks of the world in various forms and colors, variations on the same height theme. This design, however, seems as impossible to wear as it should. Besides being sky-high, these are not actual shoes to wear but socles. Gaga should find ways to industrialize these and wear them regularly! We found ourselves the destination of all things ridiculous! (via)
