Tarantino’s Signature Style
May 12th, 2010 by kpriss
Regardless of what your favorite movie is, Tarantino’s load of cinematographic clichés is what makes a true Tarantino! (and what better topic for the 1st day of Cannes 2010?)
And even if I’m sure there’s more, the trunk shot cliché is a mighty strong one in Tarantino’s movies. Hereby a collection of Tarantino-trunk-stills to remember just where his favorite angle lies. (truth being told, don’t you just feel left out when there’s an important trunk scene and it’s all being filmed from outside? Tarantino’s angle is much more participative, therefore I like it much more. Do you?) (via)

May 12th, 2010 by kpriss
Somewhere under all that volcanic ashes cloud there’s significant glamour happening! The 63rd edition of the Cannes Film Festival is officially on a roll!
And who better to debut Cannes 2010 here than Cate Blanchett? Impeccable as always, Armani faithful as always, there she goes for the Robin Hood photocall wearing white (technically a very pale shade of pink) custom made Armani Prive Summer 2010. What say you? (photos via 1, 2)

Karl Lagerfeld Wears His Summer Jeans And Boots In Saint Tropez
May 11th, 2010 by kpriss
We’re used to seeing the Kaiser dressed in all black with his trademark high heeled boots and his high collar (and his outrageously outdated wide tie) everywhere. From fashion shows to schmancy reunions, Karl Largerfeld is couture’s man in black.
But not this season, oh, no! When in Saint Tropez you have to play the Chanel petanque and wear your cruise wardrobe! And Karl Lagerfeld is wearing his best white high heeled boots and his best whitewashed jeans. Isn’t he something out of this fashion world? Hit the jump to see who else was joining the Kaiser for his Saint Tropez cruise-ish adventure!
Marc Jacobs Bookmarc Collection Coming To A Bookstore Near You
May 11th, 2010 by kpriss
The Internet is such a wonderful place! Look at all these amazing finds! How else would have I known Marc Jacobs “designed” a colored pencils collection if it wasn’t for the joys of web-ing around?
Marc by Marc Jacobs is a notorious label first because of its designer and then because of the price tag. Take this Bookmarc collection for instance: pencil sets for $8? Pencil tin cases for $8? The Bookmarc bookstore is located West Village, across the street from the Magnolia Bakery. It comes in time for the back to school season, with so much time available for advertising his new Bookmarc line. But would you really buy Marc Jacobs stationery products for your children? Why? Vanessa Paradis Ad Campaign For Chanel Coco Cocoon Bags Collection
May 11th, 2010 by kpriss
If we’re to judge the Kaiser by the cover, we’d say he’s a mighty conservative person. Just look at those clothes of his! You’d say he never takes them off!
Thus, learning that Lily Allen’s reign at Chanel was over shouldn’t come as a surprise to the world. She was meant to be the flavor of the moment. And now she’s been replaced with a living legend: Vanessa Paradis. She’s the new face of the Coco Cocoon Bags collection. And she’s looking as lovely as ever (with a bit of Photoshop help, biensur). (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery and don’t miss the video!)

Perfect Beach Body With Spanx Swimsuits Spring Summer 2010
May 11th, 2010 by kpriss
It’s all about concealers, camouflage and deceiving tactics. There’s no magic that’ll make you body beach perfect over night. So for all of you believing in pixie dust, Spanx to the rescue!
Their Spring Summer 2010 Swimwear collection is far from being distasteful, bringing you the Spanx comfort and the slimming promise in a very attractive package for the Summer beach season. I’ve never been a fan of dissimulating your body but I’m sure the Spanx legend wasn’t born for nothing. Too bad they use already skinny models to showcase their products, a before/after image with normal bodied-models would have been so much more suited, wouldn’t you think? (and yes, this is because I saw Agyness Deyn bikini body and I said to myself – this is how you make a good body bikini-wrong! Why not see if all bodies can go bikini-right?) (via Spanx)
Natalia Vodianova Introducing (Bugaboo)RED
May 11th, 2010 by kpriss
So many (red) products out there, how would you hear about them if they weren’t highlighted by someone famous? It they weren’t presented in some catchy manner?
Natalia Vodianova’s latest ad honors the (red) cause by lending her face (and body) for a special Bugaboo campaign. Bugaboo joined the (red) initiative raising money for Global Fund (aiming to eliminate AIDS in Africa) last year. They’ll donate 1% of all Bugaboo’s revenue for the (red)cause besides coming up with a special (red)collection: denim (red) strollers, baby (red)bags and (red)iPhone holders. (the story continues with more images right after the jump!)
Chanel Petanque
May 11th, 2010 by kpriss
If you’re in Saint Tropez, don’t forget to take your Petanque with you! For recreation purposes only, Chanel fashioned these fancy pentaque boules and jack engraved with the double interlocked C logo of the much esteemed fashion house.
I’m waiting for my custom-made petanque set from Chanel, silver made with a cherry wood jack (plus a gold embroided matched Chanel logo-ed 2.55 to carry those everywhere I go). Otherwise, this is completely pointless, playing petanque must be couture or not at all! (via)
