Miranda Kerr’s New Victoria’s Secret

There’s something about Miranda and Victoria’s Secret. My guess is that when this girl was born, so was Victoria’s Secret. At least the general idea. There’s no other way the two would be so out-of-this-world compatible! (well actually VS was founded in 1977 and Miranda wasn’t born until 1983 so that kinda puts my theory to rest)
Posing for lingerie is a tricky, tricky thing. One must know how to work around the intimate nature of that particular garment and turn ordinary people into Victoria Secret clients. Instantly. And Miranda Kerr has that magic touch. She may look childish and playful for some, I for one think that’s what saves her from being an average lingerie model. Maybe that’s just me, what do you say? You wouldn’t believe what the Olsen twin sisters do for marketing! They smile! They forget the shades and they smile wide for the picture!
Their long awaited Olsenboye collection – a teen targeted line available at JC Penney is inspired by (what else) Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s own wardrobe. Which they say is inspired by street style. So beyond gender and trends, vintage-y and thrifty. I know it’s for a younger audience, but we’re all young at heart, after all, so what do you say, judging by this image? (via)

Lily Allen’s Elle UK August 2010

Lily Allen seems to be a best seller for Elle UK. So they brought her along for the August 2010 issue. Just to sell. That and to promote her stylist self.
Yep, you read that right, Lily Allen is a stylist now. She even has her own clothing shop: Lucy in Disguise, in collaboration with her sister. Because Lily, you see, she loves clothes and she loves consuming clothes. And she knows it’s bad, so she decided to share her consuming habit with the world. Her coming out is in fact a vintage-like shop (didn’t Chanel do the same with her mother?) where people can stop and make their refill on luxurious thrifts. Kanye West the great visits the King Tut exhibition in New York. For the occasion, he got his black slim suit on, he’s looking great! More so since he has his best jewelry on!
It hardly matters where do I look at that golden necklace from, it still looks larger than life! And that pyramid knuckle ring on his right hand fingers. King Tut? Kanye’s feelin’ your fashion! Isn’t he golden? (via)

There’s something too “perfect” about Louis Vuitton’s Fall Winter 2010 2011 ad campaign. One blonde girl (Natalia Vodianova), one brunette (Christy Turlington) and one redhead (Karen Elson). Tons and tons of Louis Vuitton bags, shoes and clothes. A serious dose of elegance.
The girls look flawless, the mirror set is retro glamorous, just as the entire collection. Diversity, luxury, Marc Jacobs really nailed it all. Too bad he’s not the mirror master as well. There’s a particular photo in which Natalia Vodianova puts her hand on her chest. Naturally, the mirror should follow. Unless there’s a nasty photoshop tool involved. Now why would they do that? Talking about Burberry’s new ad campaign just a while back has brought me to this: Burberry takes the beauty world by storm with their first makeup collection. And the associated ad campaign.
With, none the other than Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. (and Lily Donaldson and Nina Porter). I actually love the looks – simple, discreet and natural. There’s not too much makeup, too much color or heavy eyes, well done Christopher Bailey! Too bad for Rosie. A bit of modesty would suit her better than this disturbing arrogance. Sure, she’s pretty, and it would be so much better if we would be the one saying/appreciating it instead of her claiming the crown without any reserves! (via)

I know someone who knows someone who was into food advertising. Long story short – the things they did with food just to make it look pretty for an ad photo turned my stomach upside down!
