Diesel’s Be Stupid Campaign Goes Even Further
August 12th, 2010 by kpriss
I’m going round this campaign for so long, it just seems like it’s been there forever and it just won’t go away. Like a bad, bad dream. Diesel used to make these wonderful, industrial ads! What happened to that era? Since when they started promoting the new “Be Stupid” commercial slogan? (since this year, I know)
However, much has been photo-storied and fired away on the internet, and still I was struck by lightning when this new ad came along. Ladies and gents, here’s the new Be Stupid by Diesel: (via)
Would You Pay $510 For Hermes Enamel Bracelet?
August 11th, 2010 by kpriss
What do you think about when you say “Hermes”? Besides the mythological character, that is? Fashion-wise, I think of luxury and leather – the two, bound with an H make my day, my wardrobe, my lowest consumer shallow joy. I admit, I have such a weak spot for oh-so many things Hermes!
But you already knew that, didn’t you? Now I have to adjust my Hermes vision because yesterday I was faced with a coloring book from Hermes (yes, paper, it’s odd, isn’t it?) and today, my Inbox was honored with yet another letter from Hermes. Featuring (are you ready? Yeah, I know, I spoiled it all with the title, still… are you ready?) the new Enamel Hermes Bracelet!
Kate, Naomi, Lady Gaga i-D Pre Fall 2010
August 11th, 2010 by kpriss
Today it seems to be the “why’s that” cover day! I’m serious, have you seen the latest i-D pre fall 2010 issue covers? Yeah, it’s a trifecta for this one too! The covers stars are Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and well… Lady Gaga.
Kate Moss is supposedly impersonating Freja Beha (?) Naomi is supposedly impersonating whatever her ego wants to and then there’s Lady Gaga. As herself. Somewhat. There’s also something to celebrate – i-D’s 30th anniversary so the cover tagline “Then Now Next” suddenly makes a lot more sense. Does it? Have You Seen Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Paris Apartment?
August 11th, 2010 by kpriss
Are you, like me, eternally fascinated by what inspires a designer to do what he/she does? There’s something so magical about a designer’s home, I can’t stop myself from dreaming at what’s hiding behind closed doors.
It may be just old news since it’s a scan that appeared in 1998 in a magazine, however, it’s Spartan enough to still be modern. Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Paris Apartment is soooo Parisian but oh-so lovely too! The usually cold tall ceilings with intricate white decorations are perfectly counterbalanced by the few pieces of furniture (but key pieces, nevertheless). Pretty, eh? (MB via DM)
Jennifer Aniston Does Harper’s Bazaar September 2010
August 11th, 2010 by kpriss
Have you ever asked yourself if the subject picked by magazines really highlight our interests? I kinda always had the feeling that magazines try hard (and some don’t succeed) to draw your interest, even where there is none.
I guess what I’m trying to say is this: who would have been interested in seeing Jennifer Aniston impersonating Barbara Streisand? Who even thought of it for a second before seeing it in Harper’s Bazaar September 2010? I didn’t. But that doesn’t mean it was also an unpleasant surprise. Far from it. I just didn’t see it coming. In a media where the Jennifer Aniston – Angelina Jolie feud is kept alive for all these years because it still cashes in, the last thing you’d expect is seeing people getting over it. Tasty Pedestrian Crossing
August 11th, 2010 by kpriss
Visually catchy, this McDonalds pedestrian crossing can be seen in Switzerland. The country where everything is… well, slightly different.
Uniformity doesn’t seem to provoke the same worries in Switzerland, neither does junk… ahem fast food. Is there anyone from Switzerland reading these lines? Care to share a bit of your life philosophy with us? It’s a pretty interesting Hump Day topic. Wouldn’t you say? (photo via)
Have You Seen The New Barbie Video Girl Doll?
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
Not? Well, it’s really amazing! It’s a classic Barbie Doll with a high-tech twist! It allows you to record videos through her chest-embedded video camera (with back lcd screen). All that for less than $50. (I think it’s serious competition for the Hermes coloring book, but you have to scale down to girls only while the book applies to all genders, ages and so forth).
Now getting back to the Barbie Video Girl Doll – someone dared to compare the Barbie camera with a powerful Canon 7D. I won’t spoil the fun, but since we were talking photography earlier, now you’ll see the photo-Potter spells in action! (via)
Hermes Gift For The Little Posh Ones
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
Now there’s something worth taking a look at when considering a special gift for a special kind of kid: the kid who has it all! the Hermes Coloring Book! 12 pages with 24 designs just waiting for the right color to come to life!
I wish I could see more to tell you which age they’d serve, however, given it’s for that special spoiled kid who, like I said before, really has it all, this $130 Hermes Coloring Book doesn’t need to be age appropriate. It’s about being brand appropriate, after all! (and I’m sure your gift would be much appreciated, like all things snobbish!) Anyone in mind for this book? (Hermes via)
