What Do Men Really Really Love About Women?

Don’t you love a title like this one? Looks right out of your monthly Cosmo, doesn’t it? It may be just one of those cheesy tag lines meant to make you buy the magazine, but doesn’t it always trick you into doing it? Because you really want to know what’s inside those men – minds and how they work?

Basically, men like natural women. Shocking, isn’t it? Especially when I think of a study I read in a magazine somewhere according to which, women end up swallowing huge quantities of lipstick during their (makeup active) existence! Men like women without makeup (did they ever told you that they actually find lip gloss to be gross?), they really love it when you don’t curl/straighten your hair and leave it just like it is, natural. Oh, and also – men love your natural hair color! How’s that for a change? Be true to yourself, to your nature and love being natural more than anything. Men will end up loving your for who you really are, underneath all those layers and makeup cakes! (sure, they also love a seriously long pair of eyelashes, a round tummy, when you speak your mind, when you do all those little things you do, they love your job, your style and pretty much everything else about you!). Isn’t she? Photographed by Mario Sorrenti in black and white for the most part, Georgia May Jagger does denim like nobody’s business. Jeans is all about yourself and you being comfortable in every situation. Mostly sheets – related. It’s a great campaign, overall, I just wish I could have seen more of the jeans and less of Georgia May’s skin. While being a Gap enthusiast (part of my weaknesses list – I fell in love with GAP when one of their jeans fitted my like a glove. I still have the pair, after years and years and intensive wearing it really looks impeccable and still magically fits my features) I couldn’t help but notice their … sales season. Joking! Yeah, that too – but they recently launched the Black Magic Pants, a new Premium Black Pants Collection in 7 shapes and fits that’s supposed to charm every body type out there!

I’m so pretentious when it comes to pants and the way the cut fits me, I won’t stay away from Gap too long – I’ll be trying their magic firsthand. However, until I do get there, let’s take a look at their offer: the Perfect Trouser, the Modern Boot, the Curvy, the True Straight, the Really Skinny, the Slim Crop and the Boy Fit. Every cut declined in few basic colors. Wouldn’t it be really a dream if we could find our very perfect pair of pants for just $60 a pair? This will be the talk of the week, I’m telling you! Britney Spears hasn’t covered a magazine for quite awhile and she managed a decent existence away from the tabloids unforgiving eyes.

It’s quite a Pop character, Britney, Dasha Zhukova’s choice was far from being an uninspired one. Actually, in terms of commercial turnover, Britney is very liable (her Candy’s collection is a bestseller) so whatever they do, even a Takashi Murakami makeover, Britpop will sell. It’s the tragedy, people are drawn to it like butterflies towards the pop flame. Take that, add the Rodarte wedding dress she’s wearing, her way of looking up to you from the cover and you’ve got yourself an entire psy – picture to work on for days in a row. The other day we were talking about Guy Ritchie and his cinematically acclaimed performances. I wonder if it’s just one of those coincidences or her Madgesty really has people turning every bit and bob of the interwebs for news possibly related to her and her familia. Paranoid much?

How do you explain Madonna’s sudden fash directorial debut? Caprice de star? I would definitely say so. But the truth is, the Miu Miu Fall Winter 2010 2011 Ad Campaign gets pretty highlighted because of that! Said to be actually contracted to do the job, Mert and Marcus, were in the middle of shooting the Miu Miu film when, accidentally, Madonna walked in.

Surprise! And because she doesn’t have anything better to do with her time (and because nobody can refuse her Madgesty), Madonna offered to do the Miu Miu job herself, pro bono. So she took the camera and rolled away! And this is what we have: (doesn’t it feel like a music video?)

How lovely are thou, let me count the ways! It’s a new fashion? The first thing that strikes me about fall fashion magazines is the multi covers strategy. They just don’t risk narrowing it down to a single cover.

I can’t complain, really.
