Heidi Mount, Baptiste Giabiconi’s Madame Figaro By Karl Lagerfeld
October 6th, 2010 by kpriss
Madame Figaro’s representation of the 50s is portrayed by Karl Lagerfeld as editor in chief and a dark mood as the main ingredient of a celebrity – filled issue. There’s Heidi Mount and, biensur, Baptiste Giabiconi for the cover and Frederic Beigbeder to co – write the story for the pictorial – conveniently named – Vacances dans le Coma (Holidays in a Coma). Everything in just the right time with the Kaiser’s Chanel collection just presented in Paris and Heidi Mount involved in an ugly scandal regarding her husband and his moral ways.
There’s nothing stopping the Kaiser from spreading his Giabiconi domination over the world! Not even a fifties noir story that apparently leaves the young man breathlessly lying on the floor… (via)
Be The One With Matthew McConaughey Interview
October 6th, 2010 by kpriss
We’ve seen the unnatural face smoothing of Mr Matthew McConaughey for his Dolce & Gabbana advertorial engagement. Now it’s time for some unnaturally egocentric wisdom coming from the very same Matthew McConaughey.
His interview with Dolce & Gabbana revolves around what a Gentleman is nowadays, what should a Gentleman stand for and how he identifies himself with that Gentleman-ish ways. Now if you ask me, they left out the most important quality for a Gentleman (for any Gentleperson anywhere, anytime, regardless of its gender): modesty. Modesty is a charmer, way more than any dark aviator shades will ever be. Take a look, tell me what you think! (via)

Surprising Wedding Dress: The Runaway Bride Dress
October 6th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s a little dress I have overlooked when I did that original / strange wedding dresses compilation! The Runaway Bride Dress! Take a look and tell me what you think!
Said to be the first of its kind, this Runaway Bride Dress combines the uniqueness of a white wedding dress with the comfort and the dedication only an athlete values in trying to reach the highest performance. This very unique perspective over the wedding gown and what it should stand for comes from Oiselle and it could be yours for $1,756. (there shouldn’t be any problems in wearing flat soles sneakers for the occasion, should there?)
Marc Jacobs For Your iPhone And iPad
October 5th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember Bookmarc? It’s the new fashionable place to be in New York. Not so, really, but one of the most interesting new sites to take a long fashlook at while in New York.
Because Marc Jacobs is a la mode, he couldn’t have missed the iOpportunity to treat us with few accessories ready to use with our precious iPads or iPhones. Neon colors, hardly discreet appearances, it’s everything Marc Jacobs your iGadgets were hoping for! Only $48 for an iPhone/ iPad case and $103 for an astonishing neon stereo headphones experience (I do have this tiny curiosity as to who really makes those headphones speakers – you see, when it comes to listening, I’m such a picky one – fashion doesn’t cut it, it must be cutting edge technology). Oh, but Marc Jacobs is so fashionableeeah! (via)

Victoria Beckham Marie Claire November 2010
October 5th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s something about Victoria Beckham and her posh magazines ways that makes this November 2010 issue of Marie Claire look pretty odd. Doesn’t it feel like she’s trying to hard?
I’m sure she has some references when it comes to fashion and style, however, Victoria Beckham’s magazines pictorials have that pushed too far quality that erases most of its fashquality. Take a look at those images and correct me if I’m wrong! (oh, and notice the cover title! Queen Victoria is trying to get by as your potential next door girl, your bff! How bizarre, how bizarre!) Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2011 Collection
October 5th, 2010 by kpriss
I was expecting blazers and a strongly manifested sartorial masculinity in Stella McCartney’s Spring Summer 2011 Collection. I wasn’t ready for such a simple expression of all the above. Less is more, it’s true they say that. Sometimes, however, less is really close to nothing.
And that’s how Stella’s collection made me feel. I had a hard time choosing something I liked or something I’d see myself wearing. The silhouettes, though feminine, were cut by man tailored vests. Even so, where the man tailored vests were absent, some huge, disproportionate volume was there to axe the feminine silhouette away and replace it with a potato sack. I know pregnancy can make you feel this way, but really, Stella? You absolutely had to do this? (you can see photos from the entire collection here; click through to see the catwalk video)
