Designer Cupcakes. Louboutin, LV, Chanel, Betsey Johnson

Now that the Christmas feasts are behind us and, some of us are already taking their exercising New Year resolution seriously (are we?), a sweet treat isn’t necessarily the best thing to do.

However, we’re talking about designer cupcakes, so it’s practically fashionably pardonable to indulge your fashionista self into some cookie treat. I’m definitely thinking about the Betsey Johnson and the Chanel, how about you? (these gorgeous sweet designer cupcakes were photographed by Therese Aldgård in collaboration with prop stylist Lisa Edsälv for Plaza Kvinna, a Swedish magazine) (via)

Tamara Mellon’s Jimmy Choo Parfums Ad Campaign

The iconic shoes label that is Jimmy Choo is going for the cosmetics market by launching its first perfume. Nothing unusual so far, except the campaign’s spokesperson is none the other but Tamara Mellon, co-founder of the Jimmy Choo brand.

Photographed by Inez and Vinoodh, the campaign image has a rather strange, cinematic and obscure feeling to it, with an inviting feeling accentuated by Tamara’s body position. Before I get all to analytic on the new Jimmy Choo perfume ad, I will just say that besides being a (maybe) clever advertorial move, it surely was a smart financial move, keeping it all in the house. Wouldn’t you agree? (also – once again we’re reminded that there’s no talent like the cleavage talent) (via)

Katie Holmes Does Elle February 2011

Elle Magazine does a Katie Holmes number for the February 2011 issue. Plain white cover with Katie all dressed in black wearing her favorite smile – like smirking face.

Katie Holmes also happens to be a mother to 4yo Suri. So that falls in line with the current 2011 fashmagazines covers trend – mommies power! Also, Katie finally explains why she’s dressing like a 4yo – because her daughter chooses her clothes for us. Phew! It all makes sense now!

(if you’re curious about her interview that revolves around her Jackie O. role, you can read fragments here; keep in mind that Katie is just a pretext for a bit of Tom Cruise shameless promotion; also featuring Tom Ford who was in the studio next door and popped to say hi and gave the sans- back dress for the photo shoot! Photographer: Carter Smith) (more images right after the jump!)

Abbey Lee Kershaw For Tom Ford Eyewear Summer 2011 Campaign

It’s hard to imagine someone resisting the buying impulses transmitted by these advertorial pictures from the Tom Ford Eyewear Spring Summer 2011 ad campaign (it’s even stronger than the last campaign with Freja).

Abbey Lee Kershaw, even browless, still delivers an unbelievably retro glamorous fly next to a prominently masculine figure like Joost Van Der Hulst. Photographed by Tom Ford himself, the images made me think there’s surely some unnamed reason Tom Ford keeps hiding a woman’s face under a gigantic pair of fly – worthy shades. Which brings some old saying in memory – hate a woman and she’ll love you endlessly. Is it so, Mr Ford, do you really dislike women that much so they all, ironically, turn to you with love? (and credit cards?) (Tom Ford via)

Valentino Lace Sneakers

No happy day like a sneakers day! And it’s not about Converse this time! It’s Valentino daahlings! Now all you fancy fanshionistas out there have a couture excuse for wearing sneakers! Go on, spoil yourself with this gorgeous pair of Valentino lace sneakers!

I’m still unsure if it’s worth the splurge, especially after falling madly deeply in love with that embroidered pair of Converse, yesterday! Also – as glamorous as they were intended to look, that black rubber sole makes it so cheap, it’s unbearable to think three figures for these shoes! (however, if the lace rubber combo doesn’t hurt your fashionably sensitive retina, the Valentino sneakers are available for $618 here). Snobbery aside, would you wear these lacey Valentino sneakers?

After such a model wedding loaded year, here comes 2011 with a first wedding announcement within the first days of its first month.

Anja Rubik has said yes to her longtime boyfriend, Sasha Knezevic. Though I’m convinced that Anja will look marvelous in whatever outfit, I’m so curious about who will offer to make her wedding gown. Haut designer or not, congratulations to the happy couple! (via)

UPDATE: Now available the first pictures from Anja’s wedding here!

Blake Lively’s Chanel Moment

Being friends with Anna Wintour apparently has its side benefits too. Though rumors were flying around for some time now, the official confirmation comes hammering down all my fashexpectancy from Lagerfeld’s Chanel:

Blake Lively is Chanel’s next spokesface for the Mademoiselle bags. I wish I knew Blake better to say if she’s such an inspired choice for Chanel. Iconically speaking. Because from where I stand, sadly, this is just a marketing friendly charade signed by Karl Lagerfeld, in his attempt to befriend the young and Chanel. He’s been down that road with Lily Allen, he’s going even deeper now with Blake. That’s my take. What’s yours? (via)
