Chanel Iman, The Picture Of Perfect Casual Chic
January 16th, 2011 by kpriss
I know we were not all created with the fortunate good (if not perfect) looks of Chanel Iman, but this image proves what I always believed: simple does it better!
Yes, this is Chanel Iman wearing a pair of blue jeans, a white top, leather jacket (plus the red quilted Chanel) and black patent Louboutin pumps. Yes, as simple as that, she’s effortlessly chic and will always look fashionable because simplicity never goes out of fashion. I have my mix and match days too, when I strive my toddlers exhausted brains and creativity to decently match two prints together, but I generally prefer jeans, top, a small across the body bag and a pair of shoes. What’s your vision about Chanel’s casual outfit? (cast your vote right after the image and feel free to add your personal view in the comments!) (photo Altamira)
Kristen Stewart Does Vogue US February 2011
January 16th, 2011 by kpriss
Looking for a way to insure the sales of its magazine, Anna Wintour brought Twilight sensation, serious actress wannabe Kristen Stewart for the Vogue US February 2011 issue.
I’m not certain there’s also a movie release to coincide with this cover, but as far as twiharders go, there’s no need for a special occasion to promote Kristen Stewart or any other twi – related personalities. Photographer: Mario Testino. (no word on the stylist yet). Also – we’ll try to pretend her arm isn’t aching and that this is a fashionable change from the tummy cramp posture. (photo via)

Lara Stone’s Calvin Klein Ad Campaign. The Golden Globes Video
January 14th, 2011 by kpriss
The following Calvin Klein ad campaign video is meant for the Golden Globes night. Apparently, it’s a dedicated thematic fashvideo with Lara Stone and Tyson Ballou.
Directed by Fabien Baron, shot in La Jolla (California), is more suggestive than explicit and even Lara Stone looks sweet and in love. Which is a big thing coming from Lara who has been assiduously exploited for her burning sensuality, implicit lust and impossible to resist physicality.
Calvin Klein‘s vision about the glamorous woman who would attend the Golden Globes and would be interested in the brand. Frivolous and adventurous. Smoke and mirrors, it’s all smoke and mirrors in the H hills! (via)
Gray Hair Is Fashionable
January 14th, 2011 by kpriss
The title was actually meant to be an interrogation. But then I wrote it and it felt so natural that I left the interrogation point aside. Because we’re all concerned about the gray – matter and we’re all facing the gray hair fear sooner or later.
I’m having tons of gray hair. And I never dyed my hair. I don’t know if I lack the courage or the conviction, but every time I think about coloring my hair, I get goose bumps. Naturally, I feel encouraged when I see fashion embracing the passing of years. Not that it would be of capital importance, but in a world where everyone (and their dogs) swears on Botox and rejuvenating treatments, I kind of fall behind, contre – courant.
This lovely young lady is just as contre – courant as I am – she surely hasn’t all her hair gray, as shown in the picture, but more likely she used a coloring scheme to get this gray effect. And she’s as cute as a button. a gray button!
Elisa Sednaoui’s Giorgio Armani Femme Bleue 2011 Campaign. The Video
January 14th, 2011 by kpriss
The video version of the Spring Summer 2011 Giorgio Armani ad campaign entitled La Femme Bleue is here. Starring Elisa Sednaoui, as earlier, plus a male companion which wasn’t identified yet, the Nick Knight film introduces us to a very mysterious Femme Bleue.
Dressed in (what else) dark blue outfits, Elisa is a temptress, moving lusciously for her unknown admirer. Or so it looks like. It’s a beautiful ad campaign, pretty dark for a Summer season, but Armani has all his bets on the advertorial seduction force, hence the blue hues. The force is strong with this one, I sense, don’t you? (via)
Jean Paul Gaultier’s Gaultier Bebe Collection
January 14th, 2011 by kpriss
Since I’m back at changing diapers and finding the right soothers for my baby boy, I was most interested in finding out more about the Gaultier Bebe collection. Not necessarily because I would actually buy items from the collection (though I’d love to, I sometimes find the couture houses luxury unnecessary – especially for babies that you can’t dress with the same clothes more than 3 months) but because I always looked up to Jean Paul Gaultier for inspiration.
His Gaultier Bebe line is distinctively nautical and I’m loving it! I love anything nautical for babies and children – navy and white with a pinch of yellow (or red / pink for the girls) could make any fashionista’s bebe catwalk worthy. How do you like (your) children dressed like? (via)
H & M Sweet Intentions Summer 2011 Campaign Arlenis Sosa, Shannan Click
January 13th, 2011 by kpriss
There’s hardly any season more fashfriendly and stylehappy than the spring summer one! And H & M thought about sweetening the hot summer days with their recent campaign: Sweet Intentions fronted by Arlenis Sosa and Shannan Click.
Pretty flowers, pretty prints, warm, happy colors with a 60s aftertaste, that’s what you’ll get with the new SS 2011 pre collection from the giant fashretailer. I know it’s only marketing but I like it. I like being around something that makes me smile, that makes me feel beautiful (not necessarily in a physical way, beautiful in my mind and in my heart). It all looks good on the screen, however, if I was to pick something, I’d probably go for the wedges and the washed out jeans. Maybe the jersey tank dress (I’m a simple girl and I have simple tastes, remember? nothing schmancy fancy complicated if I can keep it basic, simple and neat). How about you? (via)
Sasha Pivovarova For Alberta Ferretti Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign
January 13th, 2011 by kpriss
I know you missed a good Sasha loving piece! Didn’t you? Because that’ what you’re gonna get next, so if you’re not particularly loving Sasha, scroll on! However, I beg you to reconsider, the campaign looks ethereally beautiful with a vintage flavor.
The curtain – like quality of the outfits doesn’t even bother me. Neither does the bridal feeling of the images. I just can’t stop marveling at the perfect aesthetic alliance formed by Sasha Pivovarova, Alberta Ferretti’s Spring Summer 2011 creations and Paolo Roversi behind the camera. Whoever styled this piece of art was really inspired! Now tell me: isn’t this one of the best campaigns for this Spring Summer 2011 season? (photos via)
