Vanessa Bruno’s Home
March 24th, 2011 by kpriss
And there I go, nesting again! Each time I’ll find something styleworthy, I’ll come rushing, upload everything and make you part of my fashdiscovery! Today it’s Vanessa Bruno’s House. (tomorrow, who knows who else’s?)
I know you’ll say “so what, another fancy schmancy designer crib!” but this time it’s soooo different! This time I could actually see someone actually living there! Vanessa Bruno’s Paris Apartment has some key design elements, but the main choreography is living space. Actual living space, not museum, not artsy display or decoration challenge! I’m loving it! Take a look! (more images right after the jump!) (photos Guillaume de Laubier ; via)
Katie Holmes’ Decision Short Film For John Frieda Precision Foam Colour
March 24th, 2011 by kpriss
I was waiting for this video to show up for few days now. And while I was barely trying to handle my enthusiasm and behave, I pressed the play button. What ensued… well, you’ll be able to judge for yourself given that my Adored Husband helped me to embed the video.
What you need to know is that Katie Holmes is starring in a short film about… hmm.. forget that – moving on! Katie Holmes is the main protagonist of an advertorial short film for John Frieda and the Precision Foam Color. Entitled “The Decision” this short film is somewhat build around the slogan “It’s a good day to dye”. Do watch it and tell me what you think! (The Decision on fb)

Make Up For Ever First Unretouched Ad Spring Summer 2011
March 24th, 2011 by kpriss
Oh, this is great! Remember we were rightfully complaining about the photoshop state of advertorial things earlier? And boy, how upsetting can it get to see someone you know and admire being photochopped to pieces and then put together in a significantly different manner than you were expecting?
Here’s the new revolutionary ad campaign for Spring Summer 2011 signed Make Up For Ever Professional. It’s the First Unretouched Makeup Ad! And it promotes the HD High Definition Foundation. And no, that’s not Kesha! And yes, she’s holding her camera upside down. And yes, this is a public notary non retouched certified ad (and after the jump you can see more images from the campaign as well as a video with making of scenes). Will it change the ad face of the world? Would you rather see more of these unretouched ads? (HD non retouched via)
Katy Perry (And More) For Adidas
March 24th, 2011 by kpriss
Jeremy Scott, unlike some other distinguished fellow designers, is a friend of the celebrity. He, to quote something you said so well: doesn’t bite the hand that feeds him. Au contraire, he embraces the celebrity. At that point that he’s using a handful of them in his Adidas ads (the proof right after the jump).
Because, unless you’ve been living under a fashrock, you know that Jeremy Scott and Adidas are an item. And a pretty hot one, I might add, going strong for few seasons already. So here’s Jeremy Scott posing nice for the cameras with Katy Perry. For one of his many advertorial instances. Celebrity is not the best vessel to carry the fashion message, I concur. But it is, however, the loudest! (via)

The New Bed Style. For Kids
March 24th, 2011 by kpriss
You have to see this! I can’t wait no more, I just found it, I think it’s beyond brilliant and consequently, you’ll be informed!
This, my lovelies, it’s a bed! But make no mistake, it’s no ordinary bed, oh no! It’s a bed for kids in the shape of a book! A book bed! How heartmelting is that? How inspiring and adorable! A bed shaped like a book for kids. For two kids (or even more, if you consider each page can accommodate two kids)! You can even close the book if you want more space! It was made up by the exquisitely story telling photographer Yusuke Suzuki (and if you want more inspiration, check up her website here!). Now imagine if someone would catch up the idea and start making bed sheets with actual text on? Talk about bedtime stories, eh? (via)
Celebrity Fashion. According To Hedi Slimane
March 23rd, 2011 by kpriss
Rumor has it, that the fashpeople believe the Red Carpet to be one of the worst usages of fashion. Of Real Fashion. The fashpopulation who only swears on the sacred catwalk and only trusts the models worn clothing is ready to cast the stone on the celebrities wearing this and that dress.
The harm done by the celeb fashion is, apparently, something unprecedented in the history of fashion (and more). Hedi Slimane, designer and photographer extraordinaire is currently sharing the above views on fashion and celebrity. Please read the following and weigh in: (via)
The fashion system has been busy keeping up with broadband and blogging/social networking. It is not always for the best, but it did give fashion a global audience. The unfortunate outcome might be the obsession and collusion between the celebrity culture and high fashion. It is just a big global mess of random endorsement. Nothing looks worse than a dress or a suit on a red carpet. It is an ongoing tragedy of cheap fashion on cheap celebrities, followed by ubercheap comments. I only like designers’ clothes on models. Good models have an inner understanding of the clothes and design.

Cupcake Dress Vs. Paper Dress
March 23rd, 2011 by kpriss
I was thinking about that amazing Up project? How hard can it be? And while I was looking around the interwebs for something interesting to bring you, I came across a most interesting dress. Then it hit me: how hard can it be to wear a cupcake dress? How about a paper dress?
We’ve seen a wedding cake dress before, it wouldn’t be the first one but from what I get, people love a quirky challenge. Especially if it tastes good! And Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne’s Georgetown Cupcakes cupcake wedding dress looks like torn from a fairy tale! And I bet it also tastes like a fairy tale too! But if you could, which one would you choose? cupcake or paper? (click through for more!)
