Katy Perry As Kanye West’s E.T. And The New Love Fashion
May 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
Where did this came from? Outer space! Joking! No, I’ll tell you: one beautiful morning, I was checking my Inbox and found a precious goodie from Cute Circuit. You may remember talking about their LED dresses before (and even about Katy Perry’s Met Ball dress). This time, they were announcing a collaboration (again) with Katy Perry who has vowed the audience and critics alike with an amazing performance held during the American Idol show.
There’s nothing here that would beat your usual favorite gossip news outlet. However, things began to radically change when I pressed play and actually watched the performance (which you can watch too, below). What do people expect nowadays from a music entertainer? (click through, let’s break this! You’ll find lots of images and another video right after the jump!)
The Nail Polish Names Issue
May 1st, 2011 by kpriss
Ever wondered where do Nail Polishes get their names from and who baptizes them? Well, we may finally have a break on that one!
The charming Essie Weingarten, the lady who founded Essie (yes, as in Essie Nail Lacquer) came forth and admitted that she’s the one who named every single one of the nail polishes released by Essie. Also, Essie was the first nail lacquer brand in the industry to give names to their nail lacquer shades instead of numbers, the old school way! How amazing is that? Take a look at the woman who changed the name of the game!(Essie via)
[…] nail polish names are all over the board now, and there are just so many copy cats. When we started in the nail business 30 years ago, the shades were named by number. It was very impersonal and boring. Essie was first to add the clever shade names to polish, and we made it fun! Women everywhere loved it and remembered us. It set Essie apart.
Wear Florals To Blend In
April 30th, 2011 by kpriss
My undissimulated love for flowery dresses is no secret from you any longer. Dreaming about wearing floral prints in winter thus, by the time summer gets here, I’m having such a flowery wardrobe that would stand tall to a confrontation with a real life blooming garden!
Now when it comes to wearing florals, some think about it as a form of art. At such a point where the fine line between interior decoration and sartorial finesse is no longer. Hereby stylist Damian Foxx to show us that, if used properly, even the unthinkable wallpaper becomes couture-ish! I’m having a hard time choosing one to favor before all others! How about you? (the charming tulips Early Tulip by Sanderson and after the jump: Mariedal in cobalt The Linnaeus collections, Designers Guild, Lily of the Valley by Cole & Son, McGegan Rose by Timorous Beasties and Richmond Park by Zoffany). Johnny Depp, Patti Smith Disney Dream Portraits By Annie Leibovitz
April 30th, 2011 by kpriss
I have to confess I can’t wait for the next Pirates movie to come out! Johnny Depp has made such a magic character from the oozy doozy captain Jack Sparrow! I’m re-watching all the previous Pirates of the Caribbean just to get into the fairytale mood!
Talking about fairytale mood: have you see the latest by Disney? Their new addition to the Disney Dream Portraits by Annie Leibovitz now includes Captain Jack Sparrow with a very surprising Second Pirate in Command: Patti Smith. (check out their photo together as well as a behind the scenes video right after the jump!)
Karl Lagerfeld Not Behind Books Perfume. Doing Chocolate Sculpture Of Baptiste Giabiconi
April 30th, 2011 by kpriss
When the news about Karl Lagerfeld doing a perfume that smelled like books emerged it felt completely legit and plausible, given Der Kaiser’s notorious love for the written word.
However, days later, Steidl issued a statement that would clear Karl Lagerfeld of any implications in the Paper Passion perfume making. So their relationship only goes as far as co-publishing books and owning book stores. It could’ve been worse, right? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if der Kaiser‘s love for smelling chocolate will actually translate into a perfume, since he recently admitted “I would love to have a perfume based on chocolate.”? Now that would be interesting! Until then, let’s admire Karl Lagerfeld’s sculpture in chocolate of (who else?) Baptiste Giabiconi! Feel free to comment! (I would!) (via 1, 2, 3)

April 29th, 2011 by kpriss
It’s been on my mind for days now (and in my Inbox for just as long, thanks to our dear friend, Ellington!). Now I finally think I have the right mood and the right day to present you with it (now the weekend is soon upon us, what better time to talk bikes?)!
The amazing green bicycle by Kate Spade New York for Adeline Adeline! Not only it’s fashionable and highly stylish, but you can attach the most versatile and truly gorgeous accessories to it! By now we all know and agree that green is the color of the season (and, hopefully, the attitude too) so the next logical step is Kate Spade’s Abici bicycle!
Count $1,000 for the bike (technical details of which can be found here), an additional $425 for the leather Scout Bike Bag and $375 for the Quinn Bike Bag for a full Kate Spade New York look (check out the video right after the jump to get a taste of that) or customize it with your own accessories! (the more colorful, the better, see the second video right after the jump which will remind you of the Kate Spade print ad campaign we talked about a while back). I’m reaaaaaally loving it!
