Not All Red Sole Shoes Are Alike

You may have heard that there was a bit of trouble in Christian Louboutin’s Red Sole heaven when a certain Yves Saint Laurent Palais pump appeared on the market (which will result, undoubtedly, in a serious increase of sales volume for the YSL pumps in question).

The red Palais (you can see a pink and a navy Palais in the picture below) was, according to the Louboutin people, a trademark infringement (worth $1million), as only Louboutin shoes can have red soles. We should note here that The YSL Palais’ sole actually has the same color as the pump’s outsole. What’s your stand on the matter? Before you say anything, just read the following quote as the fierce people at YSL, who are not easily fooled, quickly explained few historical facts to the good Louboutin folks: (NYP via theGloss)

Red outsoles are a commonly used ornamental design feature in footwear, dating as far back as the red shoes worn by King Louis XIV in the 1600s and the ruby red shoes that carried Dorothy home in ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ” YSL says in court papers. “As an industry leader who has devoted his entire professional life to women’s footwear, Mr. Louboutin either knew or should have known about some or all of the dozens of footwear models that rendered his sworn statement false.

Kate Beckinsale Is Pregnant?

There’s a particular image making the rounds of the interwebs right now with Kate Beckinsale sporting a tiny baby bump.

Whilst news about her pregnancy weren’t yet official, the image is pretty clear and obvious and Kate looks radiant and joyful. If it proves to be accurate, we wish Kate a wonderful pregnancy and a safe delivery! Either way, I’m so glad she’s back to her usual brunette do! Did you hear anything about Kate being pregnant again? (via)

Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Toit Perfume

Hermes is always ready to surprise us and their latest perfume is no exception to that rule: Un Jardin sur le toit (rooftop garden)! How amazing, how fairy tale-ish and sublime is that? From the name itself (which comes to complete the “Jardin” series from Hermes) to the idea which it stands for, the new Hermes fragrance is definitely something to have!

The light Jardin sur le Toit eau de toilette could be yours for $125 and if you’re thinking that the urban rooftop garden is too modern for you and you’re more classic and, just like me, feel the country side nature more than its skyscraper sister, the Jardin collection from Hermes is vast enough to please you! (Jardin en Mediterranee, Jardin sur le Nil, Jardin après la Mousson) Have you tried any of Hermes’ Jardins?

Dita Von Teese’s Beauty Secrets

Coming from someone who has found her style, few beauty tricks go a long way – for Dita von Teese surely isn’t your next door celebrity and will most definitely not change her style anytime soon.

So, in terms of beauty products and beauty rituals, here’s what works for Dita: Dior Capture Totale Foundation, MAC Mineralize Powder, Dior Dolce Vita red lipstick, Guerlain Divinora Liquid Liner, Dior Show Mascara and Crème de la Mer moisturizers. Her interview was filled with goodies, so here’s more (and just so you know, she’s even writing a beauty secrets book) :

Flawless skin is the most important thing, then red lips. In exactly that order. Red lips don’t look good on blotchy, uneven skin. […] Don’t underestimate the cosmetic power of sunglasses. It’s worth spending a bit of money on a quality pair. I usually go for Dior or Louis Vuitton.

[…]it doesn’t matter what moisturizer you use. Just make sure you put it on right after cleansing, while your skin is still damp. That way your pores can absorb it while they are still open. So choose any cream you like for the face and body.[…] A matte finish diffuses any features about my face that I’m not comfortable with, while shine highlights them. […]

Generally, getting that perfect, flattering [eyeliner] line is hard! I look down into a mirror to apply it so I can see the shape and match them up better. Make sure not to pull your eyelid out at the side, because when you let go, the line will be a completely different shape. […]

Where To Find Cheaper Guess By Marciano Dress?

I was totally used to see high street fashion stores reproducing high end couture labels. Not the other way around. Almost. If you consider Guess a couture label. Which I don’t. But that’s just me.

However, a particular Blair Vintage Dress from Guess by Marciano is actually a shameless copy of a Rodarte for Target Go International dress. Which is still available for $15,74 here while the Guess copy can be purchased for $168. That much for being original huh? (via).

Nail Art: Keith Haring Manicure

We’ve talked about the Keith Haring shoes as designed by Nicholas Kirkwood and the minute I saw this manicure, I knew I had to come share it with you, just in case you’re thinking about a full Keith Haring look.

And more so since the Keith Haring manicure is more likely affordable rather than a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood’s outstanding shoes! What troubles me is that, although looking great, the manicure is unlikely a diy item. At least for me. How about you? Do you think you can reproduce this amazing Keith Haring manicure at home? Justin Bieber Someday Perfume

Let’s talk about Justin Bieber’s Someday Perfume! It won’t take too long, I promise, it’s just.. I had to take it out of my chest before I got on with anything today!

So Justin Bieber is launching a perfume called Someday. The package has tons of hearts on and the bottle has even more red and rose hearts building up the stopper in a rose (or something else?). The removable charms don’t help shaping a true personality to the perfume bottle (which looks downright cheap and dubious on my end).

It will be available starting next month, accompanied, biensur, by side products such as scented hair mist and body lotion. But we’re just barely scratching the surface of what’s bugging me – the real deal is the ad campaign! The ad campaign for Justin Bieber’s Someday Perfume stars Dree Hemingway. Lovely Dree will front Justin’s perfume aiming at the 14 to 18 year old female population wishing to get under Justin’s skin. Guess who’s lensing the campaign? Terry! YES! That Terry Richardson! How is that even humanly possible without thinking of all the mess he’s into? Either way, here’s an important UPDATE as the video commercial has surfaced and it’s way stranger than I could’ve anticipated – watch it right after the jump! (wwd via)
