Charlotte Gainsbourg’s L’Essence Balenciaga Ad Campaign

Did you know that Justin Bieber’s perfume is setting world records as an absolute best seller celebrity perfume? Yes, yes it is! So it’s only natural that I feel there may be something wrong with the world.

However, this treasured piece of fragrance news feels reassuring: Balenciaga L’Essence, the new perfume from the house of Balenciaga. As impersonated by Charlotte Gainsbourg (who was also the spokesface of Balenciaga’s 2010 perfume, Paris), this new fragrance is, allegedly, worn by Charlotte herself. That’s how good it is. The violet – vetiver – scented perfume hits stores September 1st. I like the green bottle, I like Charlotte and I’d love to smell the fragrance as I’m convinced I’ll like it too! (via)

I have to admit, there was something rather special going on this weekend. Victoria and David’s daughter first pictures emerged, then Anja Rubik marrying Sasha Knezevic, plus Sasha looking lovely for Maison Michel. But did you hear the most disturbing of them all?

Jennifer Lopez divorcing her (third) husband of seven years, Marc Anthony! I really thought Love was strong with these ones (I think I’d feel equally shocked to learn that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were getting divorced – cross my fingers that this doesn’t happen)! I felt saddened and disoriented and today I remembered that, among other projects (a reality show, music albums, not to mention concerts), Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were releasing a fashion / home line, with Kohl’s. (watch the video right after the jump – it was filmed a couple of months ago on May 2 – do these two look like two people getting a divorce a matter of weeks only?)

Fashion people, rest assured, a divorce is not standing between you and a piece of J.Lo (or Marc Anthony)’s collections from Kohl’s! Their fashion will outlast their marriage!

The day Carla Bruni – Sarkozy finally admitted she is pregnant has arrived! Not that we thought she was really treating herself with some particularly copious meals. It was rather obvious, let’s admit it.

In a recent interview (14 July, that’s how recent) she admitted she is with bébé and that she doesn’t (yet) know if it’s a boy or a girl. Now get this: when she was asked about her experience as France’s First Lady, her answer was head spinning:

“Tree years of being (France’s First Lady) is much less tiring than ten years of modeling.”

I was first convinced I won’t feature Jessica Alba’s Allure August 2011. At a second thought, I reconsidered my initial stand on the matter given that Jessica made some funny remarks about her body. And more. (are they serious about that cover title under Jessica’s name?)

There’s no telling if Jessica’s Allure photo shoot took place when Jessica was already pregnant, even so, that’s what bothers me with this pictorial – having to see Jessica without her baby bump in a magazine while she’s heavily pregnant in real life time. (doesn’t it bug you too?) Fast forwarding to what she had to say that convinced me to write about it (enjoy):

How does this make you feel? A Fashion Week show signed by Kanye West? You may not be aware of, but the respectable Mr West has been on heavy rotation at the haute couture houses as intern. (notably Louis Vuitton, Raf Simmons, Fendi)

He has hired Louise Goldin and (supposedly) Louise Wilson for the occasion and if we’re to believe the rumors, Kanye will debut his womenswear collection this year at the September New York Fashion Week. If Justin or Daddy / Diddy / Deewhatheverhecallshimselftoday can do it, so can Kanye, right? (via; photo via)

That’s what I call a special day! I’ve been talking about Harper Seven Beckham (talking about lil’ children will always make my heart melt. Always!) then I saw pictures from Anja Rubik’s wedding to Sasha Knezevic.

Now it’s time for a black and white feast with Sasha Pivovarova in her Maison Michel Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign! I was starting to quietly put some distance between me and my beloved headpieces. Not anymore! I have Sasha Pivovarova and her Maison Michel photos to thank for that! There’s another special thing I’d like to submit to your attention today (besides the lovely pictures of little Harper Seven Beckham): Anja Rubik is now officially a married woman! Congrats to her and Sasha Knezevic, may they be happy in love forever! (oh, how I love weddings!)

Anja Rubik’s wedding dress, as announced previously, was designed by Emilio Pucci‘s Peter Dundas and since we now have the images to sustain the rumors, below you’ll see how lovely is Anja Rubik, the bride, and how beautiful the ceremony and the venue are (because, as we speak, the festivities are on a roll) including Peter Dundas himself as a wedding guest. How flawless does Marion Cotillard look in the latest Christian Dior Miss Dior handbags fall winter 2011 2012 ad campaign? The particularly dreamy aesthetic of the Mikael Jansson shot campaign is nothing next to the fact that the pictures were taken only two weeks after Marion Cotillard gave birth to her first child (the happy event is rumored to had been taking place in the second half of May 2011)!

Marion looks gorgeous as ever and judging by her physical shape (which is right next to impeccable) not much of photoshop retouching has been used. (photos via 1, 2)
