Men Fashion. How To.
November 17th, 2011 by kpriss
I was doing some quality reading on the fashinternet and, among other precious gems I already shared or will share with you, I found an interesting piece of information about men fashion. About the men’s approach of all things style.
As you may suspect, men’s fashion is a tricky field, as it often needs to break though a thick crust of preconceptions and clichés. Slowly but steadily, men fashion is being democratized and the love of style is starting to spread among the men population of the world. And if you want to know some of the main differences between women’s approach of fashion and fashcommerce and men’s perspective over the same issues, according to Mr Porter’s head of sales and marketing, Mario Muttenthaler, this is all there is: (oh, and please, share your opinions about the matter!)
“With women, they know a little more what they’re looking for, and they want to make sure it’s the right fit. Men really like to be inspired or told what to wear and how to wear it. A lot of guys like to learn about other ways to wear what they have. […] Men are tactical about their purchases, while women tend to be philosophical. Women want to spend more time on a site, shopping and discovering premium original content about the brand. Men want to get to their purchases faster.”

Where Did Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 Collection Go? Who Stole It? Why?
November 17th, 2011 by kpriss
You may have heard that Marc Jacobs‘ team has issued an e-apology (that’s an e-mail apology, duh!) stating that their entire Spring Summer 2012 collection has disappeared!
Just like that, in its way to Paris, the MJ SS12 collection was stolen! It’s as tragic as it is funny and I wish I knew otherwise than laugh through my tears.
The Cruella DeVil of fashion should know better than to steal an entire collection from such an acclaimed and highlighted designer!
Do you think it has anything to do with Marc Jacobs not being interested in the Dior position anymore? (just speculating, of course) And, most importantly – will it be returned, safe and unharmed?
Chanel Spring 2012 Harmonies Beauty Collection
November 17th, 2011 by kpriss
While we’re assiduously getting ready for the Holidays, Chanel is already thinking of next spring! The new Chanel spring 2012 beauty collection, Les Harmonies de Printemps is ready to hit the stores!
It’s a very suited name for the collection as it comes in lovely shades of pink, coral and soft red. From where I stand, it all looks very natural and warm, a great collection that also covers the basics not just the seasonal trends. Too bad you can’t hold on to the makeup case goodies too long (remember to pay attention at their expiry date!), some beauty collections, like this one, hooks you up forever! Is this the new look of spring 2012? Natural, soft beauty?
What To Wear With My Jeans For A Party Look
November 17th, 2011 by kpriss
I was thinking that sometimes I find myself lost in wardrobe transitions and when I want to put together a simple outfit for an evening or a night out in the town, I either go for too much or too casual.
What I’d need is a simple piece to spice it all up, to add the glamour and the glitz an evening out needs. But without overdoing it and going all red carpet just to grab a nice medium rare stake and a late night movie. So, to make it special but not too much, this is what I’d need. Maybe you too? What do you think? It’s a sequined button down shirt, lovely in my opinion (and would’ve been just perfect if it wouldn’t have been waist long but long enough to be tucked into my skinny jeans – or any other jeans I’d be wearing).
Jeremy Scott’s Adidas Spring Summer 2012 Leopards And Gorillas
November 17th, 2011 by kpriss
Just when his winged shoes were becoming a trend, Jeremy Scott must have stopped and wondered if he really wanted it to go winged – manic and said “heck, no! Ima cut off those wings and grow some gorilla heads instead!”.
So he did! Jeremy Scott’s Adidas sneakers collection for Spring Summer 2012 is all about flying monkeys and swimming leopards. Wait, what? No – no – no! Forget the wings. Just black, furry, hugging gorillas and cute spotted leopard (with leopard heads on). Knowing Jeremy Scott, this will also be a certified sellout! Oh, and if you ask me, the dog wears it best!
Versace H & M Only For The Skinny Beautiful People
November 16th, 2011 by kpriss
Yes, we’re having another conversation about Versace’s H & M collection. If people were over the Moon with enthusiasm before the collection landed, excited beyond belief when the fashion show took place, it’s time for them to fall flat on their feet again.
Donatella Versace, the creative force behind Versace may have worked with the world’s most popular fast fashion label, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she shares the same views ad the democratic high street fashion brand. Some rumors (well, actually a bit more than rumors, but let’s call it that and hope there’s still a slight chance for them to be inaccurate) circulate, saying that there was this special campaign in place for Versace H & M collection, involving normal New York women called “Model New Yorkers”.
The initiative was supposed to highlight women from New York wearing pieces from the above mentioned collection. The operation, however, hit a wall of rejection as Donatella didn’t greenlight the photos. Why, you may ask? Because the women don’t fit Versace’s branding! Donatella, honey, what did you expect signing on with H & M? The average Hennes and Mauritz customer has almost nothing to do with your beloved tall, platinum blonde, skinny young women! Ah, designers! Whoever said fashion people are nasty?

Beyonce Out Takes Her Growing Baby Bump To Miami
November 16th, 2011 by kpriss
For anyone out there who was still feeling doubtful about Beyonce’s pregnancy, please take a look below at the latest images circulating with Queen Bee proudly showing her baby bump while vacationing in Miami.
Sure, she’s wearing something to protect herself from the sun, but you can see daylight clear that the baby bump is real alright! And growing! Looking gorgeous Bey, keep on rocking that belly, it suits you! (doesn’t she look lovely?)
Marc Jacobs Won’t Do Dior
November 16th, 2011 by kpriss
You know there were these rumors flying around, placing Marc Jacobs as creative director for the house of Christian Dior? As it turns out, Marc loves his current state of affairs so much, he won’t go designing for Dior.
Some other options are available, such as Celine’s Phoebe Philo, Alexander Wang, Jil Sander or Jason Wu. While the last name may sound promising, the world still waits for John Galliano to reprise his creative mastermind chair back at Dior. Yes, he was faulty and in grave error, but he’s brilliantly talented and it would be such a loss to have him exist the fashion stage through this shameful back door! (although I admit I’d love to see what Wu could do chez Dior!)
