Michael Pitt’s Prada Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
December 26th, 2011 by kpriss
It’s nice and quiet in the fashworld. Christmas happened. I trust you had a wonderful time and a Merry Christmas with your loved ones!
Given that I can’t stay away from you any longer (wink), I decided it was time I checked the good fashpeople and what they’ve been up to these days. Not much. And still.. Michael Pitt (you may be familiar with him from HBO’s Boardwalk hit series; and no, no relation with Brad… Pitt) has booked the Prada campaign for Spring Summer 2012 as photographed by David Sims.
It’s not a premiere, as Prada has featured Tobey Maguire in their latest Fall Winter 2011 ad campaign. However, I cross my fingers for a joint campaign with Jamie (Michael Pitt’s girlfriend is the sensational model Jamie Bochert). Wouldn’t it be lovely?

My Christmas Playlist. And More
December 21st, 2011 by kpriss
My darlings! I know this very special time of the year is about sharing and spreading the love and the joy, so I’m just going to leave this here (as an early Friday Break), in case some of you still find a little moment to share the love frizz – style!
It’s such a great thing, being surrounded by your loved ones, I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am because I have my wonderful family and my amazing Frizz family too! You’re such a great bunch and I love you all dearly! May the Joy and Light of Christmas be with you now and every day, blessings to you and your dear ones!
Each Christmas we, the Frizz home family love our Christmas playlist. And each year we add more treasures to it. I can’t really decide which are the songs I love most so I just picked this and that, a handful of merry songs. I hope, from the very bottom of my heart, you’ll enjoy listening to this tiny Season’s playlist – please add your favorite (or simply the one that crosses your mind when reading this!). Love you all, have a Merry, merry Christmas, everyone!

Have You Seen Ashley Greene’s DKNY Jeans Giant Billboard?
December 21st, 2011 by kpriss
Because if you didn’t see the Times Square giant billboard, here it goes! Yes, it’s a smaller version (wink) which might not be as satisfying as the real Times Square deal, but do consider it as a traffic – safer alternative (wink again).
Ashley Greene, ladies and gents, in lovely black and white photography by Inez and Vinoodh for the DKNY Jeans Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign. Ashley is undoubtedly a very pretty young woman and I can’t wait for her to prove her acting skills beyond the Twilight zone! How do you like Ashley Greene? And her DKNY billboard?
Kasia Struss In Rome For Moschino Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
December 21st, 2011 by kpriss
Although I always had a playful perception of Moschino, I think this ad campaign is a little odd for an official fashion campaign. Kasia Struss posing fashionably in Rome for Moschino Spring Summer 2012 feels more like an invitation to visit Rome, more than anything (the campaign breaks under the “Viva l’Italia” slogan, so it’s not so surprising after all).
Of course the image is absolutely flawless in composition, color and interpretation (given the overall theme). I just wish they’d do it more fashionably and with more subtlety than they did (notice the legendary red Fiat 500 in the background). I guess I should be thankful the campaign doesn’t present Kasia copiously eating pasta?
Katie Holmes’ Birthday Outfit: Black Jumpsuit Over White Lace Top
December 20th, 2011 by kpriss
Strange things happening today… Seeing Mariacarla in Yves Saint Laurent’s ad hours after talking about her was only the beginning it would appear!
Remember that piece about Roger Vivier? And Suri Cruise? Well, here’s Suri’s proud mama, Katie Holmes, celebrating her 33rd birthday! The thing would’ve passed completely unnoticed (okay, maybe with a mental note of congrats for Katie) if it wasn’t for some familiar sight. The thing she’s wearing? The black jumpsuit? Onesie? Doesn’t it remind you of something? Of a very similar white one she had on for her Broadway premiere (All My Sons) back in 2008? (jumpsuit which was supposedly her very own design, her very own fashion label, Holmes & Yang)
Marc Jacobs Officially Denying Dior Position
December 20th, 2011 by kpriss
We’ve heard so many speculations over the last months about who is going to take the creative position at Dior that it’s finally time to start putting them behind us. One at a time.
Marc Jacobs was one of the designers who were proposed (possibly, maybe – remember we’re talking rumors in the fashion world, there’s hardly anything foggier and less credible) and, after hearing all those speculations, here he goes, officially specifying that his job is with Louis Vuitton and that’s where he’s staying! Although I tried my best to keep it short, I went on and on, copy / paste and then I realized – wait a minute – you can read the wonderful interview here! (so, if you have a minute, do spend it fashionably reading a Marc Jacobs interview from Vogue)
I love being in Paris. I love working at Louis Vuitton. I love fashion. That’s why I do it. No one’s forcing me to do this. And nobody forces anyone to buy it. It’s a real love affair. It can be difficult, like any relationship that has its ups and downs. […]
I am at Vuitton, and I am very happy there. I’ve been saying that for a long time. There have been on-and-off conversations about Dior. I don’t know; maybe someday in the future, maybe years from now, I may end up going someplace else, maybe Dior. But right now I am at Vuitton, and all that matters to me is that that’s where I am and I’m going to keep doing my thing. […]
My greatest challenge is to do something better than we’ve done the season before. The idea of couture doesn’t hold that thing for me. It’s archaic—in my opinion. I mean, I am really interested in the craftsmanship behind couture. But I can explore all that in ready-to-wear.

Mariacarla Boscono’s Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
December 20th, 2011 by kpriss
Talking about Mariacarla Boscono just hours ago and now actually seeing her in an ad campaign! Fashion talk is certainly not without irony sometimes.
Stefano Pilati has opted for David Sims (after a very long collaboration with Inez and Vinoodh) for a slightly different aesthetic in Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign. Mariacarla herself is looking different with painted eyebrows and a mighty strange haircut. I don’t have the feeling this styling is really complimenting her look, but if that was the designer’s vision, I can’t do otherwise but admire the junkie – like chic he has put on display for the upcoming Summer season. (I do like the clothes, though – wink – don’t you?)
