Abbey Lee Kershaw’s Gucci Flora The Garden Perfumes Ad Campaign

Have I told you how fascinated I am with perfumes? That doesn’t mean I’m in for the smelling! (not entirely) I’m in for the story! Usually, a pair of shoes, a skirt, a coat, they’re so easy to frame for selling! When it comes to perfume, it’s an art. I think.

You have to come up with the right blend, a formula which hasn’t been bottled before and, most importantly, you have to come up with a story! Perfumes stories always get to me. A good fragrance has to come with a powerful resume and bio to work its magic on me. Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2012 Couture Show may have warmed our fashsouls, but broke Amy’s family’s hearts. (too much? JPG’s tribute to Amy wasn’t at all insulting, it was a fashion depiction of a very talented singer with a individual style. All in color and light spirit). However, his show brought more than that: it brought Andrej Pejic on the catwalk. Again. And Beth Ditto in the Front Row.

And Beth is back, it would appear: she’s launching a collection with M.A.C. cosmetics this upcoming June! I’m so happy she’s back – she’s like a constant explosion of positive rock energy and color! All perfect for M.A.C., isn’t it?

You know, I was just going to enlist this new ad campaign under “Quick Links”. Say a few words about it, nothing more, nothing less, something spirited to present yet another Ad Campaign for the Spring Summer 2012 season.

Precious just got a new picture in my fashion dictionary! Roger Vivier’s Rendez – Vous Limited Edition collection for the Fall Winter 2012 2013 season took the ordinary shoe and gave it a fairy tale spin courtesy of some seriously de – feathered bird/s. I’m sure no actual bird was harmed in the making of this masterpiece of a stiletto, in exchange, many fashionistas hearts were turned to mashed potatoes at the sight of it! (including yours truly!)

Remember I told you we were to the movies a week ago? It was wonderful, especially since the movie we watched was great too! (we’re usually the hit – and – run movie goers: we don’t always get to pick the movie we go to because we’re rarely out on our own. So when we can elope the kids, en amoureux, we usually go see a movie. We pick the best in the currently running list and that’s the philosophy of it. In short.)

So we watched Contraband. It’s currently running, so you can catch it too if you want. And it’s really worth the trouble! Plus the amazing soundtrack, so it’s double the fun! J. You know there’s this huge Marni collaboration with H & M for this Spring! And you also know that there’s a video for the campaign, directed by Sofia Coppola coming to sustain the said campaign. However, until that video surfaces, there’s the ad print campaign for H & M Marni Collection. With Imogen Poots and many different prints. In outfits and home décor. – there’s also home décor to the Marni H & M collaboration?

Now that’s a fun Haute Couture event! Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012 Couture was such a beautiful show, so colorful, so meaningful, so modern and anchored in our current reality! I loved it!

It was almost entirely inspired by Amy Winehouse, which we know, was a source of fashion inspiration for many designers and brands (remember her collection for Fred Perry). Jean Paul Gaultier made this amazing couture soup based on Amy Winehouse’s dechiré style, added some corset and lace to spice things up and served it with a pinch of his usual rock’n’roll.
