Blake Lively’s Elle March 2012 White Cover

This is going to be interesting! And I’m not talking just about Elle’s March 2012 cover! Blake Lively is this issue’s covergirl, dressed in Victoria Beckham white dress and photographed by Tom Munro. She’s all serious, giving us that blue stare I’d say she picked up from Derek Zoolander himself.

All virginal, bridal white Blake Lively has some serious competition to the “win – your – heart – via – the big – screen” game: Rooney Mara. Think about it! Rooney, however, is playing for the “dark side”, being dressed in dark colors, wearing her dark hair and her pale complexion from Red Carpet event to red carpet event. Still think it’s not a competition? How about if you knew that Blake was part of Soderbergh’s next movie project but from one week to the other she was replaced by Rooney Mara?

Rachel Weisz L’Oreal Ad Campaign Too Photoshopped

It’s one of those ageless days here: latest in Photoshop wonderland is the oh – so – lovely Rachel Weisz who is proudly representing for L’Oreal’s Revitalist Repair 10.

The campaign’s photo shows a too smooth skin on Rachel’s face, with a smooth glow. Given that the visual sustains an anti – ageing cosmetic product, I think it’s a good attitude from the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority to ask the giant cosmetics brand to stop pushing this ad, at least in its current form. Baby steps, but we’re getting there! Hopefully! I can’t wrap my head around it, people! – we’re more and more enamored with reality shows but can’t stand the look of real faces in ad campaigns (and magazines)!

Love Rachel Zoe Issue 7 Vs Rachel Zoe Close – up

The sad truth is that we prefer Rachel Zoe’s (un)dead look as she was styled for Love magazine, Issue 7 to the rough, close up truth. Or maybe Love is preparing an age-less issue?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, and if you’re in the mood for some nasty talk, do hit the jump to see a close-up of Rachel Zoe’s (real, very much alive) face. Am I the only one who’s over the beautiful vampire cliché? I know, I know, it’s all about Rachel’s “I die” verbal reflex! And about vampire brides. Umm.. wasn’t that Twilight? Oh well. Love, Twilight… Hoping this issue goes beyond the clichés!

Diane Von Furstenberg’s Mirrored New Ad Campaign. Feelings?

This is an interesting visual product! And not just because it involves the beautiful clothing designed by Diane von Furstenberg, but because the DvF Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign is inspired by surrealist paintings.

Photographed by Camilla Akrans (no word about who’s starring in the campaign), the first image of the campaign shows us a face – less model, wearing a mirror instead of her face (mirroring the blue sky). Be The Woman You Want To Be is the message of the campaign. I’m loving it! It’ll take me a while to get used to the idea, but I’m loving it. How about you?

Madonna Is Wearing Adidas Tracksuits. Ka-ching!

We’ve all heard that Madonna is going to entertain at the Super Bowl this year, so, naturally, she gets even more attention than she would usually get for her W.E. film and her soon – to be – released studio album.

Doing what we do best, noticing what her Madgesty is wearing, we found out that Madonna, who was often spotted wearing Adidas tracksuits (even when swimming!) is not doing that by accident! And no, not just because she’s working out so much, all the time, at all times! But because Madonna receives those tracksuits (and more) from Adidas! For free! thumbs up for the original Material guuuuurl!

David Beckham’s Bodywear H&M Super Bowl Video Commercial

H & M proudly presents David Beckham’s Bodywear collection commercial which will air during the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl XLVI. Basically it’s about a (famous) man in his undies. 30 seconds of filming him from (almost) every angle.

And because, let’s not forget, it’s the Super Bowl, there’ll be a testosterone overcharge surrounding the stadium and the TV sets at home, the good H & M people played Animals’ “Please don’t let me be misunderstood”. What’s there to miss/ understand, anyway? (oh, and after the jump – a good minute and a half with David Beckham‘s behind the scenes footage!)

Lane Crawford New Ad Campaign. Cloning Fashion.

After seeing the beautiful Edun ad campaign earlier, I nearly cried at the sight of Lane Crawford’s new ad campaign (Lane Crawford is a designer goods retailer with department stores in Beijing and Hong Kong, China). Such a severe aesthetic, unfriendly result! And to think it was signed by Mert and Marcus! Luckily the glorious cast saved half the disaster that is Lane Crawford’s campaign (Li Bing Bing, Chen Ran). Cloning appears to have high fashion value in China.
