Vanity Fair’s Demi Moore Pregnant Cover Reigns Supreme

21 years later and fashion magazine editors still can’t think of anything more creative for pregnant women covers other than the bare – it – all pose in the style of Demi Moore’s Vanity Fair cover. Many magazines editors have tried, over the years, to replicate Annie Leibovitz’ photo – success. None succeeded, though – Demi’s baby bump sold 548,058 issues. The only one getting closer to that figure was Brooke Shields baby bump, with 440,353 copies sold.

Would Jessica Simpson’s Elle cover get Demi off of her pedestal? My wild guess is that she’ll get nowhere near that number. What’s yours? (official numbers from wwd, photo from nydailynews)

Would You Buy Dr Martens By Agyness Deyn?

Remember we talked about Agyness Deyn promoting Dr. Martens? Yes, the First and Forever campaigns? Well, it would appear that they were so successful (were they?) that Dr Martens decided, after just two seasons of working with Aggy, that they’re taking things further. Agyness Deyn collection for Dr Martens reportedly hits stores this fall. Interested?

Karl Lagerfeld Tired Of Fashion Week, Designs Stamps

We all know Karl Lagerfeld is tireless and when it comes to plastering his name allover the place, he’s quicker than all the Kardashians put together. Fashion Week is so yesterday so his latest is a stamp was designed for a special fund – raising event which will be held this very month in Monaco.

The Work of Sister Mary Stamp, as designed by Karl Lagerfeld honors an association that deals with the poor elderly people and is presided by Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Hanover. The charity designed stamp will be available at the Monaco Post Offices in sheets of 10 stamps, each measuring 41 x 30mm. Lagerfeld is in the details!

Jennifer Lopez Covers Vogue US April 2012

Now that’s a stunning view: Jennifer Lopez is promoting herself through every means possible. And that includes a Vogue issue.

Vogue April 2012 shows a glowing, beautiful, perfectly fashionable Jenny from the Block as photographed by Mario Testino. (though it’s really not an original combination, red dresses and Ocean backdrops seem to be one of Anna’s favorite settings when it comes to celebrities covers – remember there was even a notorious controversy on that matter with Angelina’s cover and Jennifer Aniston’s cover?). Pulling a Janet Jackson for the Oscars one day, a Vogue the other, Jennifer Lopez (post divorce) is a pretty busy lady! Was marriage keeping her down? (image via)

Christy Turlington, Husband Ed Burns Watched Friends With Kids

A couple of days ago, the beautiful Christy Turlington with her husband, actor Edward Burns, stepped out for a special movie night: the screening of “Friends with Kids”. A lot of (beautiful) people attended the screening, but none caught my eye. Except Christy. Whose smile brightened up the night! Isn’t she gorgeous? (Edward Burns is part of the great cast announced for Friends with Kids. Can’t wait to see it!)

Johnny Depp Is Tonto In Verbinski’s Lone Ranger

When it comes to costumes and big screen performers, Johnny Depp is definitely on top of my list. Forget Batman, Spider Man or any other wonder – man! Johnny Depp is who you have to watch! Fashion wise, he’s the fiercest of them all!

No skin – tight spandex, no Ron McDonald color feast, no flying around, no magic, no twisted inventions. Maybe just a dash of rum and a loooot of feathers! Johnny Depp has invented Disney’s Captain Sparrow as we all know him today.

(rumor has it that after the first screening of the first Pirates of the Caribbean, some Disney hotshots said Depp has ruined the Sparrow character! Ha!). And he’s about to reinvent Lone Ranger’s Tonto as the first image (as tweeted by Jerry Bruckheimer) of the Lone Ranger and his faithful companion, Tonto, is everything we’d expect from Depp! Isn’t he fierce? That crow on his head is hilarious! Truly a Mad Hatter, that one! (fiy, The Lone Ranger is set for 2013 release, under the brilliant direction of Gore Verbinski – also responsible for Rango, and three of the POTC movies)

Robin Givhan Aiming At Fashion Bloggers: Fash – Boom!

One of my favorite fashion writers today, Robin Givhan (her DB contributions are really interesting) is, apparently, starting a war against shallow blogging. Fashion – wise, I completely understand and support her theory that bloggers tend to waggle their integrity out the window when it comes to freebies and front – row seats. But she mustn’t worry, insightful opinions, intelligent views like hers won’t ever be overlooked in detriment of amateur bloggers! We love you, Robin!

Grimes Is Dazed And Confused By Hedi Slimane April 2012

Let’s enjoy one of Hedi Slimane’s photographic projects as he’s going to have less free time on his hands now that he’s taking Pilati’s position at YSL. Can’t wait to see Slimane’s powerful pure vision in Yves Saint Laurent’s future collections! Until then, here’s Dazed & Confused April 2012 cover in full Givenchy Couture through Grimes (the new musical extravaganza every – hip – one is swearing by). Slimane is the next multiversed Lagerfeld?
