Daria Werbowy’s Vogue Australia June 2012. Beautiful, Always The Same

I’m perplexed by the fashion people’s ability to work with an amazing model in pretty much always the same registries. Daria Werbowy, although very versatile, keeps posing as fashion’s rock’n roll absolute chick as patterned by Vogue Paris Alt – Roitfeld styling dream team. Vogue Australia June 2012 is yet another example of missing innovation while working with Daria. (photographed by Daniel Jackson) {Vogue Australia}

Hermes Wins Lawsuit Against Counterfeiters. Good Or Bad?

A Manhattan federal court lawsuit order decided that Hermes should be awarded $100 Million in a lawsuit against counterfeit goods selling sites. The trademark infringement and counterfeiting measures ordered like closing down the websites in question include the search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo) stop providing links for the said websites.

Hermes counterfeit goods sites banned Would this mean the end of bad taste affordable fake Hermes bags hanging on every pretended fashionista’s arm out there? Or it’s just a drop in an ocean of counterfeit goods? Honestly, were you ever tempted to buy fake designer goods? Although I contemplated the issue myself, I think it’s lack of respect for the work put into those designer (luxury) goods to go ahead and buy something fake and pretend it’s the real deal (also lack of respect towards the global financial situation).

Linda Evangelista Filed For Child Support From Francois Henri Pinault

A real soap opera this one! Linda Evangelista, who is famous for her not getting “out of bed for less than $10.000 a day” in her supermodel days, has a boy with Francois – Henri Pinault. Salma Hayek’s husband. In short – the two dated from Sept 2005 until January 2006 and Linda was pregnant at the time, although concealing the identity of her baby daddy, Linda filed for child support payments, asking for $46,000 / month. Once a record breaker, always a record breaker!{Fashionista}

Jack White’s Interview May 2012

He is definitely one of the musicians I admire the most in our modern era. I’m not familiar with his solo project, the one Interview May 2012 announces with big cover titles, but his work in the White Stripes duo, enchanted me.

Naturally, this issue is one I’d look into because of its cover star. Although Craig McDean’s photo of Jack White is like torn our of Johnny Depp’s style book. Would Jack White be preparing for a Tim Burton project? There’s no telling, and the inside pictorial seems to stray away from that cover feeling. Especially under the influence of his actual interview, conducted by Buzz Aldrin, as White instructed it. (click through for more)

Congrats To Jessica Simpson For Baby Girl Maxwell Drew Johnson!

One of the most expected births in the Hollywood Hills. Especially since we were all under the impression that Jessica Simpson had been pregnant for sooooo long! Nine months have a special, extra dimension when you’re a celebrity.

Holding on to that celebrity extra zing: Jessica Simpson was rushed to the Cedars – Sinai hospital for the birth of her baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson and installed in a really special birthing suite. One which costs only $3,784 a night (3 bedrooms, 2 baths, muffin baskets, and more). There’s no word if she found that perfect leopard print caftan she was dreaming about, but I’m guessing it would’ve been a perfect match for the VIP lounge serving as her delivery room.

Missing Homeland: Vanity Fair TV Issue

It’s interesting to see how the world hasn’t evolved much in the last fifty years. We’re still addicted to our TV sets, as much as we’d try not to! I mean, honestly, how can you not, with series like Homeland Security and Modern Family? These are my absolute favorite TV Series right now, and because I’m missing Homeland so much (they return next year), I just had to talk about Vanity Fair’s TV Issue.

It’s not their best, obviously, the cover alone is as cliché as our love for TV series, but entertainment is what makes the world go round, and women, white sheets and luxurious diamonds are part of the smoke & mirrors media – culture. It’s like putting together all the ingredients to have the perfect cheesecake. Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife. Claire Danes, Homeland Security. Sofia Vergara, Modern Family. Michelle Dockery, Downtown Abbey.

Guess Replicates Gucci Product. Lawsuit Still In Progress

Whenever I turned to Guess campaigns / products I had a distinct feeling of familiarity. Something was oddly similar with DSquared, Gucci and so many more reputed fashion houses. It would appear that the similarities are not accidental: Gucci fights Guess in court claiming there’s a massive knockoff scheme in place, guess having replicated the trademark styles of Gucci, Tod’s, Ferragamo, Vuitton, Prada, DSquared, Nike, Puma .. and I’m sure the list goes on. Surprised? (below: right Gucci, left Guess){WWD}
