Joan Smalls’ Amazing W Magazine July 2012 Cover

It’s hard to ignore the breathtaking beauty and unearthly grace that is Joan Smalls. Gracing W Magazine’s July 2012 cover, Joan was photographed by Steven Meisel as part of the Fall Trend Preview issue.

Besides being a really good cover, aesthetically speaking, Joan Smalls follows a rocking cover with Tom Cruise, a movie – affair with Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen and an appealing Jessica Biel. March 2012 has been W’s model issue cover, with Kate Moss as the main highlight; if you remember, that inside pictorial with Good Kate, Bad Kate was one of the best ever. I cross my fingers for Joan’s to be just the same! I know she can deliver, so it was really just up to the editors if they wanted it big or just… average. And as far as I can tell, the cover is big, so that’s saying something already!

Kate Moss In A George Michael Video!

Remember George Michael’s Freedom 90 video? (who could ever forget it?) Then you’ll also remember Kate Moss wasn’t among the supermodels who appeared in the legendary video. And she so wanted to be among them, as reported by Mirror UK.

George Michael, my dahlings, has heard about her wish and decided to make it true by offering Kate Moss a cameo in one of his upcoming videos (White Light, to me more specific)! Well, it ain’t Freedom, that’s for sure, but her only competition in the said video, is a zebra. I trust she’ll do just fine!

But did you know that Kate and Freedom – star Naomi Campbell are scheduled to appear together (with Rosie Huntington – Whiteley) to represent British Fashion at the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony (August 12)? Yep, yes she is! And she’ll wear McQueen and Vivienne Westwood for the occasion! Is it August yet?

Michael Kiwanuka Tell Me A Tale

How was your weekend, my dahlings? Peaceful and loving, I hope? I said I’d keep the telling stories to a minimum these days and I’m trying to keep that for Michael Kiwanuka’s Tell Me A Tale, this week’s Friday (discovery) Break!

He’s a very gifted young British musician with a voice of gold – they don’t make them like this anymore! I hope you’ll like him too, just let me know! Enjoy a soulful piece and have an amazing new week!

T By Alexander Wang Resort 2013 Collection Debuts Swimwear

Talking about Alexander Wang and not saying a word about his more affordable T by Alexander Wang would be unpardonable for an admirer such as myself. However, as I really loved the simple slouchy feeling of some of his previous T designs, I can’t say I found the same aesthetic in his T by Alexander Wang Resort 2013 collection!

Yes, he maintained the coolness factor, the comfortable lines and the relaxed attitude. But the clothes got tighter, gloves falling off of the model’s hips, the simple geometry of T by Alexander Wang’s edgy aura wasn’t enough to charm me. And surely a tracksuit with a reported price of over $1,000 won’t find its way to my heart either!

Happy Father’s Day! (With The Amazing Willow Tree Family Grouping)

Today is a special day: it’s the day we celebrate fathers! Although Father’s Day lacks the glamour that surrounds Mother’s Day, it is just as special and meaningful! At least to us! Happy Father’s Day! May love and peace be always in your families! (I’m excited to finally share this wonderful sculpture from Willow Tree – I love what the talented Susan Lordi is doing and I couldn’t have find a better moment to present her to you!)

Alexander Wang Resort 2013 Collection: Dungeon Delicacy

I’m puzzled, my dahlings! As I went through the Resort 2013 collection, I tried to find a motif for each and every one of them. The center point of fashion inspiration. Alexander Wang’s gravitated – as reported by style – towards delicate and light. I’m no fashion expert, but a simple look at some of the items (the selection below is just a representative sample) pointed me in the dungeon direction. In all delicacy, biensur!

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2012 2013 Express Train Ad Campaign

Oh, the irony! The pictures you’ll see below (and after the jump) come from Louis Vuitton’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 Ad Campaign. And if we’re to believe what wwd quoted from Marc Jacobs about the said campaign, this is what “the glamour of travel and the romance of going somewhere” look like!

The Louis Vuitton Express is comprised of 10 models (both female and male) as photographed by Steven Meisel in an effort to replicate the atmosphere of the actual FW 12 – 13 fashion show. I know it fits the Vuitton aesthetics and falls right into the austere trends for fall, but really? This is what glamour means to Marc Jacobs? Then heaven for him would be right in the middle of a ghost – haunted, spider – web – foggy, dusty attic! (chills down my spine!)
