Victoria Beckham Designed Her Own Eyeglasses, Now Available For Purchase

Some of us may remember Posh Spice back in the days when she was wearing eyeglasses.

She wasn’t seen wearing specs ever since.

Why? Well, simply because she didn’t find the right frames, duh! So she designed some. Naturally, she’ll also be selling the eyewear, so at least if Victoria Beckham is wearing eyeglasses, she won’t be the only one!

Admittedly it’s not a nice topic just a day following her wedding, but maybe, just maybe, with a little marketing luck, we’ll get them out of hiding, releasing some pictures from the ceremony & the party?

Anyway, it’s always a pleasure to see the very talented Natalie Portman, so let’s see what this new advertorial stint is about. Natalie Portman, much like her Black Swan co – star, Mila Kunis, signed a collaboration deal with Christian Dior. While Mila is promoting their Miss Dior bags, Natalie takes care of the beauty business.

Earlier, when we talked about Natalie Portman’s wedding to Benjamin Millepied, the reports I read also placed Macaulay Culkin at the ceremony. Macaulay was Mila Kunis’ boyfriend for 8 years. Until 2010. Now, Mila’s boyfriend is Ashton Kutcher. Who famously left Demi Moore a while ago. Who’s Demi Moore dating now? Martin Henderson. He’s the latest to be identified by Skynews as Demi’s boyfriend. (Martin is an actor, seen in Off the Map, House M.D., The Ring). Quite the famous puzzle, huh?

Because just the other day we celebrated a half a century from Marilyn Monroe’s sudden, unexpected and still unresolved death, browsing through the interwebs today, I realized one important thing: while Marilyn is still the most appealing woman ever, we’re growing up and living with these distorted beauty ideals that are buried deep in our heads, pushing our physical conscience to perpetual unhappiness.

A significantly shocking picture shown on the DM site today is enough to make us shiver (and ban Barbie dolls collectively). A real woman’s body in comparison with Barbie’s body is a moral nightmare waiting to happen.

I love me some fashion fun anytime! So in the middle of serious news lines (like Gabby’s hair and secret wedding ceremonies), let’s break the scenery with a pair of really colorful sneakers. Adidas Jeremy Scott JS Bear sneakers look like a bear love affair waiting to happen. Although their faces seem completely miserable, I’m sure everyone would like to take them home from the store. Trying hard to become the absolute cover champion every month, i – D magazine has another set of covers ready for the Pre Fall 2012 issue. Among them, however, Herieth Paul and Kel Markey as photographed by the amazing Solve Sundsbo stand out. (other covers, as shown in i – D’s online preview so far, feature Cara Delevigne, Charlotte Free, Kelly Mittendorf)

It’s a youth thing for this i – D issue, as the cover tagline suggests it “Just Kids Issue”. Fresh faces, fresh style approaches, this sounds like a promising, full of energy issue. Just what we needed for fall!

What we’ve been discussing for days already, Gabby Douglas only came to strengthen and confirm, as Huffington Post just reported. Saying that she’s wearing her hair like that for years (much like all the other gymnasts involved in the Olympic competition), Gabby Douglas is assuring us that “Nothing is going to change! I’m going to wear my hair like this during beam and bar finals. You might as well just stop talking about it.” Yeah, baby! You do that!

Call it a Family & such after hours, but I had to say something about Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied getting married this Saturday! While their engagement and baby announcement took everyone by surprise (their baby boy, Aleph, was born in June 2011), Natalie and Benjamin were since then under permanent scrutiny from the press and the public.

At such point that wedding bands were spotted on their fingers back in February 2012. According to Us Weekly, the bridal jeweler chosen by Natalie and Benjamin is Jamie Wolf who concocted two rings made from recycled platinum and conflict free diamonds. Mazel Tov! (oh, and pictures, please?)
