Chanel Christmas Nail Polish – Classic Put-together

I don’t know about you, but for Christmas I always paint my nails red. It’s like an oldfashioned gesture I remain faithful to, maybe outtrended but cherished nevertheless.

Everybody loves showing off from time to time. And what better way to do it than with a big monogram meaning you’re “there”? That you’ve made it to the top and you only treat yourself with the best of everything?

This is not a marketing-purposes article (though it would be interesting that I’d end up advertising for Louis Vuitton), but I do admit having a weak spot on this particular’s monogram products.

This is just a posting showing you a $2.550 Louis Vuitton Monogram Olympe from the Winter 07 Collection toted around by Hilary Duff on a casual day at Maxfield Store in Hollywood. It’s the Nimbus Grand modèle: “In the spirit of Greek mythology, Nimbus gives back the smokey effect in the clouds that covered mountain Olympe and the intimacy of gods.” It’s a delightful way to describe a leather tote, ain’t it?

Yesterday I shared with you a beautiful dress with black and white optical print. Today I give you this clutch also in black and white.

The “minaudière” it’s a small ornamental case for cosmetics, jewelry, personal items that is often carried as a handbag. This Leiber Minaudière it’s fully beaded with black and white Austrian crystals in Aphrodite pattern.

So not only this is a pretty expensive handbag (oh, dear, I forgot to tell you – it has detachable chain shoulder strap ad it comes with double-sided mirror and matching coin purse – for that only you pay around $1.000 at least!) but is also has a mythical motif on. And not just any: Aphrodite’s (just to remind you, Aprodite was the goddess of love, beauty and fertility). It’s maybe supposed to be used in some kind of love-ritual and they only mention it when you want to buy it (it comes with a warning note explaining you that you have to be careful when sporting this Cylinder minaudière or you’ll end up having all the men at your feet.. damn! Imagine a $4.500 sacrifice to get um… well, close your eyes and say whatever name you want. Is it worth it?).

In my efforts to redirect the spotlight from the little black dress to other dresses equally interesting or even more eye-catching, I’ve started a hunt over the Internet searching the perfect colored party dress. Today I found this black and white beauty and just couldn’t resist showing it to you: the Karta Patterned Shift Dress ($306).

It’s a sixties inspired tunic with optical print that’ll make you easily stand out in the crowd. Even if you choose to match it with pumps or booties and leggings (or tights), this black and white mini dress will leave an impression: that you’re not afraid to be noticed.

I’ve got nothing against this girl. She’s hard working, she’s curvy and kept her curves fighting the slimming-pressure against all odds, she’s so discreet in her relationship that you’d even say she doesn’t have one, short – the perfect next door girl.

Sometimes, though, I cannot help myself wondering what ever happened to the mirrors at her place (or the hotel, for instance). I’m sure she’s choosing wisely her outfits for the Red Carpet appearances (and still she misses big), her mum’s creations are sometimes so Beyonce-fit that she must be using the scissors to undress.

I prayed she got off that mermaid thingy but this Little Red Riding Hood nightgown she showed off for the Emporio Armani Diamonds Perfume Campaign in Milan is somehow outrageous.

This incredible Armani Dress makes her look even curvier than she already generously is, it’s shapeless (just look at that bubble-tulip-red-negligee and you’ll see just what I mean), it’s just not Beyonce-fit. What’s wrong with her? Not to mention she looks so sad she makes me feel for her (and her Armani dress).

Celebrity baby-boom is a one heavy trend sported in 2007 and continuing in 2008. It looks like our 2007 Christmas is all bundle of joy.

Poppy Montgomery, Gabrielle Reece, Nicole Richie, Giada de Laurentiis, Brooke Burke, Cate Blanchet) – Jessica Alba’s recent pregnancy announcement was outspotted by shocking pregnancy news from Jamie-Lynn Spears and not to forget Lilly Allen who’s expecting her first child with one of the Chemical Brothers.

We could also remind you that these celebrity-mums-to-be put their clothes on with just as much sense of style as before. It seems Roberto Cavalli was the favorite designer for some of the celeb baby bumps (Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Richie) but they all were sported on the Red Carpet or running errands wearing very stylish clothes.
