Debra Messing’s People’s Choice Awards Gray Dress

It’s not sure why Debra Messing decided to go for a wide-hip bauble-ish dress, but she really Mess-ed this People’s Choice Red Carpet!

Sure it’s trendy, it’s the new it, but it also looks highly risqué and that shows! She surely has no reason whatsoever to camouflage her body like that and the occasion called for celebration, not for a dark colored dress. I have, however, searched the designers files and didn’t found who signed the hippy bauble-ish dress. I thought it was Dolce & Gabbana but … who was it? (photos via celebutopia)

Its a difficult dress to wear but hats off to Debs for daring it.Rather dull for an awards red carpet event though.
The dress is by Donna Karan.

It is rather sombre in tone, but I think that you will be seeing a lot of subdued colours or lack of colour due to the mood of the world’s economy and so many (potential) wars going on. At this point in time I do not think it behooves them to look too extreme with luxury and excess. Certainly not at the People’s Choice awards when a lot of the people are losing their jobs and homes.
Debra Messing looks nice I think.

I agree Ellington. I don’t feel in the mood myself to even look at all these Award Show red carpet dresses, Haute Couture and R-T-W shows. Not at all.
Though I saw a picture of Reese Whitherspoon today, another honoree at the People’s Choice Award, and I loved the way she looked. Better than the rest.

I sound sombre but I just had a good laugh watching “Freaky Friday”. I’d never seen the movie. That Jamie Lee Curtis is funny I was aware about. Where has she gone? I’ve always loved her. But that Lindsey Lohan can be that funny did surprise me. Though I found it just a feel-good-movie lazy on the couch after watching the news…..sighs deep….

@ Adriana.
Jamie Leigh is now Lady Haden Guest. Her English husband inherited the title of Lord.Last I heard she writes children’s books and does a lot of charity work notably for children with Aids.
Perhaps a TV film now and then.I don’t know if she’s still with her husband.

Thanks Dolly Bird. But I know all about this. Yes, she’s still with her husband as far as I know and has enough of the way Hollywood treats women. But her own name is Jamie LEE Curtis. Leigh is her mother’s last name. Her parents are Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh (famously ‘killed’ in ‘Psycho’).

Jaime Lee Curtis’ husband is the wonderfully funny actor/writer/director Christopher Guest. Have you ever seen some of the films he was in and written, like
“This is Spinal Tap” (brilliant!), Waiting for Guffaman( funny), Best In Show (hilarious) and A Mighty Wind (hilarious)? If not you should give his films a try. ; )

Thanks Adriana I know all that too.My spelling mistake was probably because I was thinking about her talented late mother as I wrote my sentence.

Ellington I’m a fan of Chris Guest and I absolutely adored A Mighty Wind!

Thank you girls but I’ve seen Christopher’s films and loves them like you do. I consider the couple as one of the most stable, normal couples in la-la-land and hopes really they maintain that status.

Debra Messing’s style usually leaves me cold, but I love this dress on her!
