Do you feel the need to cozy-up your wardrobe for the cold season’s days? Care for timeless, natural elegance? A sweater dress can make an excellent fashion choice for fall and winter!
I looked up and down the internet for you and picked up a perfect 10 lineup of sweater dresses. Meant to cover all and any occasions, from daily errands to endless office hours and fancy partying, the sweater dresses we’re about to see would make a lovely addition to any fall/winter wardrobe! I chose them in a more neutral palette so they would transcend any trends and color fashions (also I’m a pretty neutral girl when it comes to my clothing, I’d rather spice it up with splashy, colorful accessories).
Let’s roll this perfect 10 and start with the casual, timeless cable knits (after that, we’ll talk striped knits and more):
{1} cable knit white dress
you’ll want to have that one in a size or two up your regular size so it won’t stick to your body and make it uncomfortable for you to wear it or for the others to look at you. A mini-midi length would be enough.
{2} cable knit loose fit dress
this shape, although a classic, seems so edgy and trendy that could match any modern combination with the latest fashion trends. An excellent choice for leisure time and nights out.
{3} wide striped knit dress
a medium length dress in tones of grey and black that would make a lovely sweater dress for working hours. You can wear it with an elegant jacket, a leather biker jacket or a cardi.
{4} thin stripes knit loose fit dress
although a sweater dress, this mid-sleeved trapeze dress looks just one of those wonderfully casual cotton/jersey summer dresses. Needless to say it works perfectly for less formal work dress codes and leisure time.
{5} striped pastel sleeveless knit dress
this is a perfect example of a day-to-night dress that can also be worn during office hours and for a casual out-of-office cocktail or event. You don’t even need to worry about the belt as it comes with a blue knit cordon matching the dress impeccably.
{6} winter sweater dress
it’s hard to imagine a better motif describing the winter sweater. Should you find one in red, it’ll make a wonderful Christmas outfit and a lovely fit for any winter day! I chose a more discrete color because I’m thinking that all working ladies out there deserve a chance to wear such a busy motif with no fear of being ‘too much’. Should you wear it with a pair of edgier shoes/boots and a biker-like jacket, it’ll magically transform into a casual leisure wear, cozy and flattering for almost any body type.
{7} casual winter loose sweater dress
this one is clearly for the less formal workplaces and for free time outings. One of my favorite sweater dresses – I like everything about it and wish it would look just as beautiful in person (it’s a H&M dress, so I’m not expecting it to, but nothing stops me from daydreaming).
{8} graphic sweater dress
this is just a perfect dress. For any hour, any situation, you can wear it and feel wonderful in it. It compliments any body type and matches a myriad of accessories and outerwear. Best thing: you don’t even have to work hard in accessorizing it for its graphic print is happy and striking enough to make a wonderful impression on its own!
{9} simple black knit dress
now this is for those who like to accessorize and spice up their outfits in their own vision and style. It’s like a blank canvas. Only in black! Have fun!
{10} dropped waist sweater dress
this is my perfect 10 sweater dress! I would wear this dress anywhere, anytime! It’s modern, it’s timeless, it’s retro chic and youthful, discrete but can be accessorized for more oomph. It’s all I ask in a (sweater) dress! (is it just me, or the model looks exactly like Cara Delevingne?)
This is my perfect 10 list of sweater dresses – what’s yours? And how would you wear them? Share your experience with knit dresses if you will!
