It’s a good day for Vogue covers. And generally, it’s a good day for bright threesomes. Wink. Not the type you’d expect, though, as I already tried to surprise you earlier with a set of three gadgets you might not have seen coming for the upcoming Holiday season. Now I’d like to take this opportunity and insert a reasonable doubt that maybe, just maybe, the grand Vogue US and UK respectively, may be slightly old fashioned?
Sure, they go with certified values (Sandra Bullock and Claire Danes for the latest covers we discussed) but a quick look at the following three Vogue international covers is enough to declare them uber fashionable and very stylish.
Great models, great fashion, great photographers, great results. The least we can do is acknowledge these three great covers and sigh with admiration.
Jessica Stam – who appears to be back to her trademark blond again, covers the November 2013 issue of Vogue Ukraine. An absolutely breathtaking black and white cover with blood red masthead makes for an unmissable statement of style and elegance. Chad Pitman signed the photography while Olga Yanul styled the shooting.
Daria Werbowy makes for some (unfair) competition with her pose and hairdo reminding of Sandy’s Vogue US. Sure, nothing can beat Sandra Bullock or her amazing performance in Gravity (which, by the way, was beyond words – so should you have the opportunity to see it, don’t hesitate!) but in this case, the pose and the fashion accolades go to Daria’s Vogue Russia October 2013 cover. Everything is amazing here: the trend is punk androgynous, the hairdo is ‘the mullet’ while the sunkissed skin is everything but fall-ish. Well done Vogue Russia, well done!
Last but not least, Mariacarla Boscono who we’ve missed dearly from the fashion stage, is precious and graceful as Vogue China’s November 2013 covergirl. The porcelain complexion, the Valentino embroidery and the strand of pearls complete with an impeccably shy sideswept hairdo could pass for unconvincing and pale. But take a minute, it will grow on you like nothing you’ve seen before! I’m unsure of what makes the ups the value of this image – the model, the styling, the pose or the photography, but everything works in its favor. Less is definitely more in this case.
Now that you’ve seen these international Vogue covers, looking back to our previous US and UK editions, what would you choose, should they all be written in English or the language of your choosing – which one would you rather buy?

Jessica Stam’s Ukraine cover is beyond striking. I’m also pleased to see Mariacarla Boscone. I’ve always liked her.
I do not agree with you about the Russian cover. Punk? Njet! That hair-do is ‘inspired’ by the then ‘new romantics’. A punk with a sunkissed tan? I don’t think so. And ugly as Putin and his friends.
Hello Kpriss.
I am sorry girl, I hadn’t been able to comment for a while as I landed a new job but I a m still checking the blog almost every day!
To the point : Vogue Ukraine is the winner for me.
Can somebody point out what is she wearing?
And finally> Hello Appollonia , hello Elligton, how are you girls?
Wish you all a great week end !
Jessica Stam IS a covergirl – this cover is a welcome change & I wish there were more magazine covers that where cool & classy. Total supermodel.
MCB cover is good but not great. The dress is 2d4 but she looks a bit ghostly.
Daria – how tragic & what a waste of a beautiful model. All I can say is that a spray tan & a mullet & then styling a woman as a man as a woman is not fashion – it is a mess! Total fail.
lolz! oh, how I missed you! All of you! <3
@Appollonia - I think the only reason I raised Daria's cover so high is because she's definitely better than Sandy's... I think (lolz at your remark!)
@ana - congrats for the new job then! I hope it's only better than the previous one? Thank you for sticking with me. With us! Will be checking into that cover outfit and let you know if I find anything out!
@Jac - true, Mariacarla is a bit ghostly. But it's Vogue China after all ;)
As for Daria's cover - as I said, comparing it to Sandy's US Vogue, it still ranks higher in my fashion books. Regardless of that tanning spray look I so loathe!
Congrats with the new job ana. Always good to hear in times like this.
To you all, a nice and cosy weekend. :)
Kpriss, I kept the old job and added this new one therefor the absolute lack of time for hobbies.
Appollonia, thanks a lot. Yes, particularly now due the situation in Spain I feel very blessed.
We’re all in this together ana, I’m happy for you and your family being blessed.
Appollonia thank you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend yourself! <3
Ana good for you! making up for the 'toddler' years? lolz
Hello lovely ladies!
Firstly, Hi ana, and that is way nifty news about your new job! : )
Secondly, I like the Vogue Ukraine cover and the Vogue China covers equally. I love the black and white of the the Ukraine cover as it looks timeless and rather future/past, and I love the cool blue and grey of of the China cover as it is rather clean, neat and precise, both models look great.
As for the spray tan cover, I kind of loath it for the model looks clueless, and in need of a good scrub.
Take care Chicas and have a darling weekend! : )
Ellington : Thanks so much. How lovely to hear from you. We miss your comments here.
Wish a great week ahead for all readers.
