Some more news from the Twilight Zone, the Concrete Couture District. There’s a new Louis Vuitton flagship store for Japan. The concept is signed by the Dutch UNStudio (Ben van Berkel, Carole Bos and many others) and there’s no available information about where this store it’s going to be placed or when.
This won’t stop me from sharing this news with you and ask for your opinion. It’s a 10 store building on three levels, each store divided into four leaves. (more pictures after the jump)
What I can’t really understand is the so called resemblance between the leaf motif and the LV monogram. Unless Marc is planning some green mono-thingy-gram, I’m unable to identify LV in the leaf scheme. At least the could’ve monogram-perforate the building. And still. What’s this white block has to do with Louis Vuitton? (click thumbnails to see larger images)

I don’t see the LV either Kpriss, but I do think its a very striking design!
I adore architecture! : )
This buildings begin to annoy me a lot! Another tower of power…thanks to the overpriced big brands/label stuff they can afford these things. I find it close to vulgar to be honest despite my love for architecture. The slow walk in the rain under my umbrella along my hometown, where many beautiful buildings are, did feast my eyes. This one hurts my eyes….
