Joe Cocker You Can Leave Your Hat On

You didn’t think I forgot about that, now did you? We’re having a midweek break. It’s lovelier this way. This week.

And we’re having Joe Cocker with the ever lasting Leave Your Hat On hit. Thank you for being here with me every single day, week after week. It’s always wonderful to have you near and to read your amazing comments! I hope you’ll have a great week and an even greater weekend! Enjoy Joe Cocker’s Leave Your Hat On! (more info right after the jump!)

If you’re like the rest of us, and can’t think of Joe Cocker’s Leave your hat on without playing Kim Basinger’s dance for Mickey Rourke from 9 and ½ weeks, the oh-so-infamous movie, you can enjoy that all over again here. However, the song was written and recorded by Randy Newman in 1972 (and he considered it to be a joke, at the time). Joe Cocker made it famous with the above-mentioned ’86 Adrian Lyne movie. It’s because of Joe’s cover and the associated movie scene that this is one of the most famous strip songs in the world. Ain’t that something for a hot summer day/night?

Right! It’s suddenly bloody hot here and I want to take everything out and “leave my hat on”!

Such a great voice from a time when singers needed not necessarily to look hot. Mickey was of course in that other video…..sighs….but damned, Joe’s voice and that horn section are so hot!!!!!

Pffff…….
