Have I told you my birthday’s coming up? It’s not anyday soon, actually we’d have to wait summer’s hot days to celebrate it (I’ll let you know when the time is right) but I think I found something to put on my birthday wishlisht : Melissa! Yes, Melissa shoes! But not just any shoes! Jean Paul Gaultier Melissa shoes!

We already knew Melissa was in for some dazzling haute designers collaborations (remember dame Viv’s heart shaped shoes?) and still I have to confess I was swept off my feat by this one! Jean Paul Gaultier’s high heeled plastic shoes look pretty impressive. For a plastic shoe! It might surprise you to find that JP Gaultier isn’t at its first Melissa collaboration! He felt the plastic trend once before, in 1982, to be precise, and he came out with a sneaker (if you compare the high heeled 2010 JPGaultier to the green 80s creation, you’ll definitely see the similarities). The new JPG Melissa comes in beige, black, caramel, lime, tangerine.
When it comes to Melissa, making plastic look heaven made it’s a challenge, a promise. And I’m beginning to give in to that. After all, they’re 100% recyclable if not 100% aesthetically pleasing! (via 1, 2)

Oh these are rather nifty and they look like they are made from black licorice and salt water taffy! : ) yummy looking shoes!
