Summer is (finally) here and while we’re looking for the perfect neutrals to match the perfect tan we’ll be getting this season, peaking at the rich and famous is always a good idea. As they have the means and they get the influential coverage to set trends and inspire fashions.
On May 14th, Europe’s most prestigious Film Festival rolled out the most impressive Red Carpet of them all. 11 days of glamour and continuous inspiration for all fashion people worldwide! As I keep one eye on the formal happening and one on the street fashion, I just realized that form fitting beige is the new black! Take a look at Eva Longoria and Kim Kardashian here:
Neutral is the new black, we knew that already! But these two ladies are showing us the high and low of wearing neutral beige both in a casual smart combo and also for a formal event, might-we add, fairly glamorous!

This week, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will allegedly get married in Europe. Paris is the most speculated about city where the Kimye nuptials will take place as the couple continues to be photographed out and about in Paris for over a week now and relatives started flying in.
I’m certain that the French people are delighted with this new publicity stunt! (there’s a poll to this story, so do scroll down and have fun voting!)
As we’ve already been warned, Kimmy is styled by Kanye and ever since, she showed more and more fondness for tight clothing, the body-glove type. Previous to this edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Eva Longoria was stating with each occasion that her favorite Red Carpet dress, ever, was a Marchesa princess gown with mermaid train and intricate lace embroidery. From that day to present 2014 Cannes Red Carpet, something switched in Eva’s preferences as she gave us this Vionnet neutral shape-fitting number!
Adding the intricate braid (which will get us all think about Blake Lively) and the side-swept bangs, the minimal makeup and jewelry (other than the heavy focus on the eyes and Martin Katz earrings), we could very well suspect that (1) either Kanye’s styling influence on celebrity fashion is overwhelming or (2) she took the opportunity to get styled by Kanye since everyone who’s everyone is now in France… or… cast your vote below! Huh? Inspired by the rich and famous? Kanye influences fashion? Neutral is the new black? Sorry, dear editor, I don’t think so. As a true movie lover I follow what’s going on in Cannes, what we can expect in the cinema’s and that does look very promising. The red carpet has lost its shine for me some time ago.
Although I know who these two are my vote goes to…. no, my verdict is:
“Who are these ladies again and why are they relevant?”
That vulgar Kimye couple and their mega expensive trash circus wedding this weekend…… my wonderful black & white holiday photos of my first foreign trip ever while visiting Versailles will never ever look the same, Versailles will never look the same again, I was so grateful…… I’m sick of rich trash like them!! Bring them to the guillotine.
