Everybody made fun of Angelina Jolie’s leg slit on the Red Carpet, but now it seems like the right thing to wear: quite a couple of actresses opted for dramatic leg slit dresses at the 2014 Golden Globes Awards!
From Emma Watson to pregnant Elsa Pataky, the Red Carpet lights have seen a handful of gorgeous legs on display tonight. Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s new darling, was the one who could steal Angelina’s meme crown, though!
She was wearing a deep blue Atelier Versace dress but as the slit ran very high up her leg, Amber was constantly careful not to reveal even more than Donatella Versace’s design already did. I was particularly fond of her hairdo as she looked styled by the master of pirates himself, the grand Jack Sparrow!

Although she wasn’t exactly showing too much (leg) skin, Emma Watson’s Christian Dior Haute Couture red dress (from the Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection) was as half-dress as she was a half-blood wizard in Harry Potter! The front panels of the frock were sweeping the Red Carpet while the back of her look was unexpectedly constructed as a waist-long top.

Hayden Panettiere managed to do what few people would ever succeed: she looked bad in a Tom Ford dress! Wearing a simple graphic design and showing her leg and a pair of pointy black shoes, Hayden added an extra inch to her petite figure with her hair carefully coiffed back.
It is unknown to me how she could wear that dress so bad while she swears on its Tom Ford label (remember what Julianne Moore wore to the 2013 Golden Globes? Hayden’s dress looks dangerously similar, even for Tom Ford’s standards). The most peculiar thing is that the PR team from Tom Ford’s fashion offices didn’t say anything about dressing Hayden for the Globes tonight (they did say Naomi Watts was wearing Tom Ford, though).
Rashida Jones in her white dress with sequined palms embroidery and dramatic leg slit was definitely one of my favorite looks from the 71th edition of the Golden Globes! She rarely missteps on the Red Carpet, but this Fausto Puglisi gown matches her personality and brightens up the Red Carpet. Not to mention the mandatory leg slit, a fashion must at this edition of the Foreign Press Association awards!
Margot Robbie was also dressed in white: a Gucci dress with a high leg slit. She made an impressive breakthrough on the Red Carpet, as being the newcomer from one of the most acclaimed movies of the year: ‘The Wolf from Wall Street’. Something about her reminds me of Abbie Cornish…
Emilia Clarke’s Proenza Schouler dress looks custom-made after a model shown in the Fall 2013 collection. Except sans the arms and with considerably botched edgyness. Notice the slit is not on the side, like all the others but in the middle lower part of the skirt.
Kristen Connolly wears a red Lorena Sarbu dress from the Resort 2014 collection with dramatic cleavage and lace trimmings, keeping her leg slit more on the layered side. But how cute was Elsa Pataky cuddling next to her husband, Thor… ahem Chris Hemsworth? In a black dress from Paule Ka, Elsa looked fabulous – who said pregnant ladies can’t be glamorous should take a look at Elsa Pataky attending the Golden Globes Awards this year! Naomi Watts wore her Tom Ford so much better and together with her man Liev Schreiber they are such an elegant and cute couple. Chris Hemworth and Elsa Pataky are always cute whatever they wear.
Again Angelina’s leg? When you get repetitive I can do the same right? ;) That’s wasn’t exactly new. It was the way she posed……pfff……her meme has been beaten by Jennifer Lawrence’s boring Dior dress brought us lots of hilarious memes. Not a good match Lawrence and Dior and so boring ‘these muses and faces of…..’ wear predictable dresses over and over again.
Best hair of the evening and also best great dressed man was Jared Leto.
Like to add something……as long as Jared Leto don’t speak but that goes for some more of these stars……not to mention the ones who tries so hard to be funny…..:)

Her gown was elegant and she look regal and effortless in it with her darling hair cut and make-up.
I am not usually a fan of Emma Watson and her dress choices but I do like what she wore, it was cute and had a sense of fun to it.
Everyone else looks ok or just rather uninspired.
Oh, ladies, I so promise to deliver much more the next time! I just fell behind on the reporting schedule and when I read your reactions I felt sorry I didn’t cover all the event, but also motivated for the upcoming ones! :)
