As I was going through the latest collections going down the New York Fall Winter 2013 2014 Ready to Wear Fashion Week’s catwalk, I realized I only had eyes for the shoes. So I thought I should just take the shoes out of the way so I can switch my focus on the clothes next.
Here I am, making the shoes point of the main footwear trends of the fall winter 2013 2014 season. Hit the jump to see things from my perspective and feel free to add yours as well!
The ankle boots are a seasonal must, so there’s no actual surprise there – except the fall 2013 booties are just below the ankle and lace up for the most part. They’re looking fairly feminine and compliment the general leg line adding extra inches and class. In darker or lighter hues, you’ll need laced up booties next fall!
The high heels keep going strong for the upcoming fall so you better opt for some chunky heels for the day and keep it less bulky for the fancy occasions. The fall 2013 shoes keep highlighting the ankles. Notice how there’s this cuff just above the ankle or simply surrounding it – you’ll see more of that this season!
Don’t forget the tall boots. It’s the boots season, after all, our dear fashionable designers couldn’t overlook the boots part. For the fall – winter 2013 2014 season you’ll need to keep an eye out for very tall boots. Just over the knee would be perfect. Not to tight on the calf, though – you need roomy boots, almost on the slouchy part.
The shoes seen here come from the Rodarte, Vera Wang, Donna Karan and Marc by Marc Jacobs collections. (images InDigitalteam / GoRunway; styledotcom)
