Ladies and Gentlemen, my better half and my dance partner, Michelle Obama!” that’s how the 44th President of the United States invited his First Lady to the Inauguration Ball First Dance tonight! And they make such a dream team!

Dancing to Jennifer Hudson’s interpretation of Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama looked as happy as the next couple in love, doing their first dance (you can watch them in the video, after the jump). That’s how amazing they are – they make it look so effortless and beautiful! Thank you!

Now: the dress! Michelle Obama’s Inauguration Ball red dress was signed by Jason Wu. Surprised much?

I find it to be a morally flawless and sartorially impeccable choice as Michelle Obama wore Jason Wu for the first Inauguration Ball as well. She looked fantastic then, in white, she’s looking amazing now, in red.

Actually, I really doubt that Michelle Obama will ever take a fashion faux pas, she’s truly one of a kind! And her Inauguration Ball hairdo? it’s so modern, so her! I love it even more than I did her First Inauguration updo!

As far as the dress goes, I don’t expect to find the exact same model in Jason Wu’s collections. However, I did find hints pointing out to the Inauguration Ball red dress in Wu’s Pre Fall 2013 collection, as you’ll see below.

The neckline is clearly inspired from the prefall designs while the fabric must’ve been the result of a collaboration between the designer and MObama as her previous Inauguration Ball white dress was made of embroidered fabric as well. I know I am beyond excited and I loved her bold red dress choice for tonight, but don’t let that take over you as well, do share your personal feelings about the dress and the night!

UPDATE: just in case you’re wondering about the gorgeous jewelry: Michelle Obama was also wearing Kimberly McDonald for Forevermark Diamonds bangles.(images Getty; styledotcom)

Mrs. Obama looked resplendent!!
I LOVED that dress and she wore it well!
She does make sound fashion choices and I really like and admire what she wears. And apparently so do a lot of other women. The belt that she wore at the Inauguration ceremony that was by J Crew is now sold out.
She has style and taste that runs the gamut from high fashion to the affordable and she mixes things and repeats.
As a black woman I am so proud of her for all that she does and all that she is!
